Eunseong lowered down the demon slowly after arriving at their destination. The two stood side by side, eyes focused on the group of college students preparing materials in a laboratory. Yuki was trying to decipher the angel's decision on bringing her here. Upon hearing the professor announcing they were going to dissect frogs for research purposes today, Yuki's orbs shook slightly. She craned her head to the older, silently demanding an explanation.
"Did you see that purple-haired girl sanitizing her scalpel?" The younger squinted closer and hummed shortly indicating she found the human. "Her name is Goeun and in a while, you'll see how much she resembles you." Eunseong spilled no more words ending in the both of them inspecting the students, especially Goeun. Once the operation began, Yuki could catch the hesitation in the girl's gaze. Either she was too disgusted or she didn't have the heart to let the animal experience pain from being skinned alive.
"In this episode, everyone must kill the innocent frog to pass his subject. Goeun couldn't put her heart to do such a harmful thing but she has to. This is where you come in." Eunseong kindly put her reasonings into words but the demon needed time to digest it. What was her role in this kind of condition? "I know you've been ditching your demonic tasks, I could see you're running low on life energy. I'm giving you the chance to make her end that frog's life."
A bright light bulb seemingly erupted from Yuki's mind, she had to give the angel all the credits for this one. By pushing Goeun to murder the little creature, she would both drive her into doing something bad yet all that was for a good cause. Yuki approached the human's spot slowly lifting the girl's right arm. All that Goeun felt was a sudden force that pressured her to do the dissection. Yuki guided the scalpel movement with care, cutting the stomach open. The little demon and student flinched at the sudden contact, both letting out a chain of apology continuously.
Eunseong couldn't hold back her laughter at the view before her. "You did well." The older patted her head like a proud mother recording her daughter's first recital. "Now you see that everyone couldn't pass a life with only doing good deeds, even if your heart tells you to stay positive you can't always escape with clean hands. The mortal world is a harsh place to live, a single circumstance like today can make you a murderer. But this isn't an excuse to do something evil."
Eunseong intertwined their hands together, ready to leave the lab. "We're going to seek the answer to your question yesterday." She gave a vague explanation about where they were heading but Yuki nodded vigorously with a smile as usual, everything was delightful as long as Eunseong was with her. She beckoned Goeun, even if she was invisible in her eyes, a small goodbye wave before disappearing into thin air.
