'He who fears he will suffer, already suffers because he fears.'
- Michel De Montaigne'My house is just around that corner' techno said as he lifted his chin to show direction.
'Wait' y/n said as she raised her sword in front of techno to stop him from going forward. 'See those?' she said as she pointed with the blade towards some sharp nails which gripped the corner wall.
'Oh. Can I have the knife?' Techno asked as he got closer to y/n expecting her to give it to him.
'Hell no, I wanna deal with it alone' she smiled and blinked a few times looking techno straight in the eyes.
She made a few steps forward giving a slight jump in the last one, making a loud noise. She got into a more comfortable position as she saw the nails go back behind the corner.
A creature appeared, but this time nothing like the usual shadows besides the nails. It stood much taller than her and it had somewhat of a feather-like covering colored in black, but it still had no face.
The creature started walking painfully slowly towards y/n to which she made two large steps now being face to face with the 7-foot creature in front of her.
Her first instinct was to push the blade towards the creature's chest. The feathered figure was fast enough to move to the side before giving a short growl.
'Let's dance then' she said as she tilted her neck cracking it.
She grabbed the blade in one hand and pulled out the bigger kitchen knife with the other. She tried stabbing the creature from the side with the knife as a cover to then pressing the blade to its neck.
With her being shorter and therefore having a lower perspective she was able to have the creature with the blade to its neck and now a knife in the stomach.
She finished it off by cutting the throat. The figure fell above her knocking her down on the pavement which left a heavy scratch on her elbow.
Techno walked towards her and gave her a hand to help her get up. She only glared at him and used the top of the sword as a support for her to get herself to stand up. Techno only sighed and kept on walking.
'It's not fair that only you get to do that' techno looked at her as they walked the corner.
'Should we get you a sword too then?' y/n asked as she followed him close behind. 'Do you have any antique shops around?'
'I think there is one but its like a 20 minute walk' techno said as he walked into the frontyard of what y/n assumed was his house.
It was quite a decently sized house, with a large front yard. It was coloured in a very pale beige with a dark brown roof. It wasn't anything too fancy, but it was still big compared to her dorm.
'When did you learn how to do that though?' he questioned as he pushed the key in the lock, opening the door.
'I play skywars competitively' she said emphasizing on the last word, with pride in her voice. 'Those years of gaming are coming in clutch.'
He smiled to that as he took of his shoes and kicked them to the side wall, under the coat hanger, tp which y/n did the same, except she put her shoes nicely together much more neatly.
Techno walked to the living room and threw his keys in a small bowl which sat on the cupboard below the tv. His living room was very big and the couch looked very fluffy and cozy.
It was a corner couch, with a gray-beige covering and some small cushions on it, giving it more volume and structure.
He had a glass coffee table which fitted the general aesthetic of the place. She took a look around noticing some abstract artwork on the walls and the archway which connected the living room to the kitchen.
