THE PACE OF Y/N'S HEARTBEAT MATCHED THAT OF THE ARMORED TITAN'S FOOTSTEPS.
his eyes were wide as saucers, his teeth were clenched, and his fists were tightly gripping the handles of his swords, to the point where his knuckles turned white. it was quickly approaching the gates to the interior of wall maria. it took a stance as if it were gonna bash through the gates.
canons were fired in its direction in an attempt to kill it or at the very least, slow it down, as soldiers panicked and screamed in fear. but it proved to be a fruitless attempt as the titan showed no signs of slowing down.
y/n landed on a rooftop, the tiles sliding off his feet a little. he watched the titan, powerless, as even the most powerful of canons failed to blow its head off. one of the cadets landed beside him, "s-sir.. what should we-" one of the soldiers looked towards his superior, but upon noticing his terrified expression, the young cadet's face fell.
as if things couldn't get any worse for them, his superior, y/n magnolia, the current titleholder of the strongest soldier, had a look of utter horror etched onto his face. "sir?"
with one swift motion, y/n shot off. "sir!!" y/n's mind was only filled with thoughts of rescuing the garrison soldiers stationed at the front of the gate. unfortunately, he was a few seconds late. the titan crashed into the wall, creating a huge hole in the towering wall maria. y/n rushed towards the scene of the crash, both hands on his blades. the little boy on his back whimpered quietly, holding on tightly to his neck.
as he headed towards the crash site, he dodged various forms of flying debris. one rock managed to graze the soldier's scar. he recoiled in pain, screaming as he fell on top of the roof. his right eye was bleeding from the newly reopened scar. "oh no, mister soldier!" y/n bent down slightly, using the back of one of his hands to try and wipe the blood off of his eye.
"mister soldier, are you all right?" the little boy asked, placing one hand over y/n's hand in an attempt to comfort him. "i'm fine." y/n said through gritted teeth. he looked up. "it's too late..." he stared at the wall in pure terror, listening to the echoing screams of the people beyond the wall.
