"ARE YOU SURE ARMIN CAN DO THIS?"
estelle anxiously asks as he, eren, and mikasa watched armin's back from the shadows of the alley they were hiding in. they were all wearing green capes with their odm gear tucked underneath.
eren was biting his nails as he watched armin casually conversing with annie leonhart, now a full-fledged soldier of the military police. "don't bite your nails." estelle scolded him quietly as he forced eren to lower his hand.
"he does that when he's nervous." mikasa told him.
"have i been holding your spit-covered hands this whole time?" estelle whispered. "oh please, you two swap spit with your mouths on a daily basis." mikasa intervenes again, keeping her eyes on armin.
groaning quietly in disgust, estelle rubs his hand on eren's cape. "that's gross of you to say out loud, even for you, mikasa!" eren angrily whispers.
"shh, shut up." estelle hissed, pointing over at where armin and annie was looking at them. they were both walking towards them. "it's done." armin mouths to them, his back facing annie.
armin walked ahead of them as he guided the group. eren and mikasa followed behind him, while estelle walked behind with annie. "hey." he greeted her. "hey." annie greets back.
"how's life in the lap of luxury?" estelle asked her again, keeping his eyes forward. "it's good. i wake up and salute to my superiors. then we just patrol the interior city." annie replied, her voice as bland as ever.
estelle's eyes briefly glanced at annie's finger. he knew about her ring. the one with the small blade hidden inside it. annie accidentally slashed him with the blade while they were sparring one time, and estelle laughed it off with her.
but now was different. noticing his look, annie hid her hand on her side. estelle smiled, "hey, remember when you scratched me with that little thing?" he asked, pointing at her ring.
annie gives him a blank look before she pulled her hand out, showing the rings towards him. "for a moment there, i thought that you were engaged to bertholdt with how much he looks at you."
