(Kid's POV)

It was lunchtime, but I didn't hang out with Lily, Billy, and Nugget this time. I was walking off the roof. I don't know why I had the sudden urge to go to the rooftop. It was just my conscience talking to me again.

As I entered the rooftop I looked around, and to my left was a girl with blond hair tied into a bun standing on the edge of the roof. Is that... Who I think it is? No. It can't be.

"Penny?" I asked. The girl turned around. And at that moment I saw the same big blue-ish green eyes that I fell for back in Kindergarten. But she wasn't wearing the blue dress she always wore back in Kindergarten. She was wearing really baggy clothes. But they were still blue.

We held eye contact for a while. The only thing in between us was the fence on the roof. Her eyes mezmerized me, "A-Alex?" She finally said.

"Penny? W-what the hell are you doing? Get over here! You could fall!" She started tearing up. "That's the point." She said with a smile as tears flowed from her eyes. My eyes widened as I realised what she was going to do.

She gave me a sad smile as she turned away from me and started inching towards the edge. "STOP!" I ran over to the fence and grabbed her hand through one of the gaps. "WHY? WHY DO YOU CARE IF I DIE?!" She shouted at me. I wanted to say it so badly... But it didn't come out. I wanted to tell her why I cared. But I couldn't out it into words.

Taking my silence as an answer, she scoffed. "I knew it. You don't. You're just trying to make yourself seem like the good guy. You're just like everyone else." Then she turned around again. I couldn't take it anymore. Seeing her like this... So angry... So mad... So hopeless... I can't stand seeing her like this... So I yelled "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!" She turned back to me and looked me in the eyes. My eyes were leaking too. "I've loved you since we were kids, Penny... Ever since you and your family moved to the Philippines I've missed you so much. I almost had a panic attack at the thought that I would never get to see you again. I love you, Penny."

She stayed silent. She slowly got over the fence and on the actual roof. She then pulled me into a hug. She started sobbing and saying "I'm sorry." Over and over again. I hugged her back and rubbed circles on her back. We sat down on one of the benches. She was still hugging me and crying. So I decided to sidoubt

I wasn't that good at singing, but I tried anyway. For Penny's sake. "Thank you Alex... I love you too." My eyes widened at the last sentence. "Are you okay now?" I asked her. She nodded and said "Thanks to you." We both chuckled. "Penny?" "Yeah?" I took a deep breath. "Alex? What's wrong?" She asked as she stopped hugging me and looked at my face. "Penny, will you be my girlfriend?" Her eyes were wider than ever. Then she smiled and nodded. I gave her a bone-crushing hug. "Thank you. I love you." We laughed. She kissed my cheeck. "Thanks for saving me, Alex."
