R I O N A
"You're late Davis!" He thundered without even looking my direction sending shivers all over my body.
"I'm sorry, my sister had to talk to me." I apologized.
" Sit." He commanded as he turned his chair around to face me.
I immediately did as I was told to avoid any further anger that he might have against me.
"This is your next target. All the information you need to know is in this file, they want it done as soon as possible, so I'd say in two days will do." He passed a sealed brown file to me.
" I got a job this week already, Katherine was killed just two days ago." I reminded him.
"You are our best asset and we pay you richly, don't complain and get this done within two days!" He ordered with a sharp tone.
" Yes sir." I slowly nodded and exited the office.
"Yikes, another one?" He asked glancing at the brown envelope in my hands.
"I guess so." I glanced at the brown file in my grasp.
"How long do you have? A week or?" He asked again.
"Two days at most."
" Don't worry, you can do it, it's just another dead body." He tried to console.
" What sort of a motivational speech is that?" I narrowed my eyes at him causing him to chuckle.
" I don't know why I said that either." He laughed.
My straight lips were in a smile as I left the shop and sat in my car, eagerly waiting to see who the unfortunate person was.
I opened up the sealed envelope and brought out the papers from inside. In front of everything rested a photograph of a middle aged woman with Chestnut brown Bob haircut with a smile on her face.
There's definitely not going to be a happy ending to your story.
I placed the envelope with a picture of the lady on the passenger seat and drove back to school.
As I parked the car I noticed a shadow in my view and saw a smiling guy.
"I just saw someone come into the environment, I wasn't even expecting it to be you." He reported like he was asked a question.
" So what? You walk up to every strangers car? You must have gotten kidnapped a lot as a kid because it seems your mom didn't teach you to not talk to strangers." I replied with irritation clear in my voice.
" Let's not mention my childhood again, I only wanted to inform the person that lunch was over and to head to class."
" Information received, now can you go?"
" Sur- huh who's that?" He asked looking that my Target's photo.
Shit! Riona that's so unlike you.
"None of your business, now get out and leave me the fuck alone!" I yelled.
He didn't utter a word after that and just walked into the school halls.
"I need to put these away." I told myself and hid the envelope under the driver's seat.
I checked the mirror to make sure I looked my role which is the nerd and went to my next class which was Physics.
Lunch has been over since like ten minutes ago do I guess Miss Rachel should already be teaching now.
I pushed the door of the class open only for it to make a screeching sound, causing all eyes to fall on me.
"So good of you to join us Miss Davis, since this is the first time your late to my class, I'll let you off with a warning." Miss Rachel informed me as I noticed my usual seat the first row was empty and just sat there.
After the class was over and everyone began exiting the classroom, I put my books into my bag to exit the classroom but I was stopped by the teacher.
"Davis." Miss Jasmine calmly called and I walked over to meet her.
"I am sorry for coming to class late today." I stuttered a bit to make her think I was intimidated but in reality she looked so fragile that I could break her with just one move.
" It's not that, but you shouldn't become like the other kids here that come into the class whenever they feel like." She preached and I looked down at my shoes.
These are muddy.
"You are the best student in Physics and so I would like it if you could help a student that's having issues with organic physics." She put on a charming smile.
That would mean spending time with one of these annoying teenagers.
"Miss Jasmine, I have a lot of respon-"
"Please, miss Davis, It's only for this semester." She politely asked again.
Only this semester? It's senior year, the semester is merged as one!
"Sure Miss Jasmine, I could take out time for that. Which one of them is it?"
" It's the new transfer student," she picked up a paper to look at. " Yes, Keith Anderson." She placed it back on the desk.
Shit. Why did I agree to this without knowing the details first?!
"Is there a problem?" She raised her brows and I shook my head.
"Mr Anderson couldn't make it to class because he went to see the school nurse, but he'll get in touch with you so you both can discuss schedules and remember, if Keith's grade goes up, you can get an automatic A in physics." She reminded with a cheerful grin.
I nodded and exited the classroom, with my head lowered I made my way to my locker where I took out the book for my final class of the day.
After taking both the note and the textbook and placing them in my bag, with my head lowered I decided to head to class, but on the way, I hit something light and I lifted my face to see what was pushed.
"Are you blind?" A tiny voice thundered as she picked herself from the floor.
What felt like me pushing away a trash can, was a person?
I couldn't control my laughter as I let out a small chuckle, angering the trashcan I thought I pushed.
"What are you laughing at bitch?" She yelled, attracting a small crowd.
Her petite hands were on her hips which highlighted her very slender figure, her pale white skin had suddenly turned red due to anger and later tried to fix her dark long hair.
I stayed silent.
I should just apologise anyway so this can be done with.
"I-"
"Apologise!" She firmly demanded and my eyes met her dark ones.
"My head was lowered, yours wasn't. You deliberately hit me, but you dare demand an apology from me! I was going to apologise but not anymore." I informed her with a smile.
As I was about to walk away, she held my arm, causing me to stop moving.
I turned to meet her eyes, "let my arm go." I firmly told her.
"Let my arm go."
"Not until you apologise."
" Let my arm go or I'll break your hand."
"I'd love to see you try you bitch!" She scoffed.
I let out a smile and use my other hand to get hers off my arm causing her to gasp.
After shaking her hand off me, I looked back at her, "Next time I won't be this nice, know your place." I warned before strutting away.
**
Did you actually think she'll break her hand in public like that? Lmao
