L E O N A R D O
All through class Riona tried to get my attention. She used a pen to poke me while making her face look straight and like that wasn't enough, Kara on the other hand kept passing notes to me.
I'm sitting in between two girls who wouldn't let me concentrate at all in class.
Riona trying to get my attention made my heart flutter to say the least. Her winks and her sparkling green eyes were really obvious through her glasses because of how long she gazed at me.
"Mr Castro and Miss Davis." The professor called causing us to turn our attention to him. "Class is happening in front of you, you kids and definitely not in each other's eyes." He reprimanded and the whole class turned to look at us.
"Sorry sir." Riona apologized but it didn't stop her from raising her brows in between the class.
When class was over, I took my bag from the tiled floor and exited the classroom not bothering to wait for Riona.
"Leonardo wait!" A familiar voice hollered at me and I paused.
"I've been trying to talk to you all day!" She complained with glaring eyes.
" Well I'm sorry if I don't take you seriously after all the ridiculous things you've been doing lately." I replied.
" Can we go out and talk somewhere?" Riona offered.
" No, I'm busy." I replied coldly and turned to leave but she didn't stop me.
If you really want to fix things with me why don't you just tell me not to leave.
As I approached the exit of the hallway, our social studies teacher, Mr Joe walked up to me.
"Castro!" He called as he approached me.
"Leaving already?" He asked."Yes sir!" I answered.
" I need you to get me a mop from the Janitor's closet and bring it to my office." He instructed.
" Why not just ask the janitor to clean up what you spilled?"
" That's because he is not available at the moment. Just go get it." He ordered.
With a groan I marched towards the Janitor's closet as I mumbled a few words under my breath.I pushed the door open entered the dimly lit corner. The place was stuffy and I could barely see anything. I took out my phone from my phone to put on the torch but I noticed the terrible network service here.
Even with the torch on I couldn't see a mop stick. I opened the closet inside hoping to find a mop when I heard footsteps and a few conversations by two females.
Huh? What are they doing in this part of school?
The footsteps got louder and I noticed they were walking towards the Janitor's closet. I stood behind the door as the door was pushed forward and a familiar sound was heard.
"Riona?" I muttered.
"Leonardo? Why are yo-"
"I apologise Riona!" The other girl pushed Riona further inside the room and closed the door from the outside.
"Darcy!" She yelled hitting the door. "Open this door this instant!" She demanded as she continued to bang the door.
" I will be back in one hour and by the time I return, I want peace and harmony between you both, your bad energy is making me uncomfortable." Mr Joe's voice came from the other end.
" We aren't fighting Mr Joe! I need to drive my siblings home!" She argued.
" I can easily tell Thalia to get your other siblings, it's not that big of a deal." He countered and Riona let out a frustrated groan.
" I'll be back." He told us before we heard footsteps leave until everywhere became silent.
"You know this is your fault right?" Riona rudely spat.
" This is my fault? Really? How?" I questioned feeling upset that she'd even blame me.
" If only you decided to talk to me earlier Mr Joe wouldn't have had this crazy idea." She argued.
" I should have spoken to you? You made fun of my feelings and laughed at me! You texted me saying you were going to apologise but instead brought a girl to say nasty things about me? I tried talking to you after she couldn't say anything but instead you went and chased her leaving me alone in the parking lot." I vented out all my anger.
" Right." She made her mouth in an o shape. "That was my bad but I tried to talk to you about it all day but you only gave me dirty looks."
" I never gave you dirty looks."
" You never talked to me either."
" I was upset."
" I am sorry okay! I'm sorry, I didn't mean for things to get out of hand like that."
" Why did you want that girl to accuse me of things I never did?"
" Forget about it, it was a silly misunderstanding."
" Tell me about it."
" I'll tell you about after I figure out a couple of things just listen," she held both sides of my arm. " I am sorry! I trust you very much." She apologized.
My heart skipped a beat when I noticed the close proximity between us.
"It's alright." I assured her.
She just stood there holding my arms and looking into my eyes.
She's so close to me would it be right to just kiss her? No Leo, she's your friend's girlfriend, that won't be right.
I stepped back and scanned the enclosed space.
"We reconciled barely thirty minutes into this lockdown, how are going to spend another forty minutes here?" I complained." Mr Joe!" Riona called. " Mr Joe! Leonardo and I reconciled! Mr Joe?" She banged the door again.
" It's no use, he's not going to come out until the forty minutes has elapsed." I sighed.
She took out her phone which I assumed was to make a call."There's no signal here."
"Shit no signal."
We both said at the same time causing me to let out a chuckle.
"Why didn't you tell me that you and Keith are in a relationship?" I asked the question I've been itching to ask.
" What?" She yelled. " Where did you get that?" She questioned.
"From Keith? I saw you both in the cafeteria yesterday and he frequently comes over to your house right?" I asked.
She hesitated before answering, " Keith and I broke up already due to compatibility issues.
My eyes sparked interest as she finished talking."That's crazy." I voiced out.
"I can't wait to get out of here, I need to have a talk with Keith regarding this issue."
