R I O N AAfter the emotionally stressful weekend came school all over again.
My first class was biology and it was a class I had with Leonardo. I felt relieved he listened to me and didn't talk to me but a part of me was disappointed that he easily listened to what I said.
When class was over and the teacher left the classroom, I started putting my books in my bag when I felt a presence. I glanced up and my eyes a petite girl with jet black hair and black eyes then next to her stood a small looking tan girl on braids.
"I hear you've been trying to get Leo to notice you." Her tiny voice started and I looked up into her black eyes. " I don't like it, stay away from him alright slut?" She gave a quick smile before going back to a straight face.
"You're the trashcan-" I observed her reaction before clearing my throat. " Person, I walked into that day right?"
"Trash-" She couldn't even complete before her pale white skin turned red to show how upset she was.
"Listen nerd, you better keep your fucking distance from Leo if you want to remain in this school." The tan skinned girl in braids threatened but I only rolled my eyes.
"How dare you roll your eyes at me slut?!" She slammed her hand on my desk.
Calm down Riona, calm down.
I didn't turn around but I could feel the gazes of the people left in the classroom.
Why do girls always have to be so dramatic?
"Calm down Kara." The dark skinned held the pale young woman.
" I ignored the disrespect you showed me the other day in the hallway but don't for one second think you can take Leo away from me."
" I don't want Leo, you can keep since you're so thirsty for a high school boy." I sighed, getting tired of her drama.
" How dare you!" She swinged her hand in the air trying to meet with my cheek but I grabbed it.
"Listen Korra or was it Coral, I remember telling you I'd break your hand, if you ever try this again, I'll keep my promise." I warned and threw her hand away from my grasp.
I grabbed my bag and walked out of the classroom.
Leonardo is going to get me into trouble, I think it is best he stayed away from me, now I have to look for a way to get rid of Keith The Curious.
"Damn so feisty!" Keith held his chest dramatically.
Keith appeared from behind while I was making my way to my next class.
"What's it to ya?" I rolled my eyes.
He chuckled, " Aren't nerds supposed to be shy and timid?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
Why does being an academically sound student have to mean me looking so pathetic and weak?
"Just because I'm smart doesn't mean I'll reduce my pride! Actually, I take pride in knowing that I'm better than most of the people in our year." I placed my hand on my hips as we climbed the staircase up leading to the science lab.
"That's a first."
" I'm not your typical nerd." I answered and abruptly stopped walking. "Wait, why are you following me?" I turned to him.
"We both have physics right? In the lab?"
"Oh yes, I don't know how you were able to convince miss Jasmin to give you the a tutor especially when you're just starting here."
" My previous school's curriculum was different so she wanted me to be up to speed."
" Whatever."
When we walked into the lab the gazes of the people in the lab rested on us. I grabbed a stool and sat down but Keith instead grabbed a stool and set it up next to me.
Can he not read the room?
Miss Jasmine arrived in the lab five minutes later dressed in a blue suit set and a lab coat on top.
I guess it's going to be a practical class then.
"Good day class!" She cheerfully greeted while adjusting her lab coat.
"Is this a practical class?" A blonde girl questioned and she nodded.
" You have five minutes to pair yourselves. Three in each group." She instructed and the class Immediately got rowdy.
Girls mixed up with their friends while I just sat down to observe the scene. People always want to paired with me anyway.
"Can we be partners?" Keith eyed me curiously.
"I don't want to fail."
"I was pretty good at physics in my previous school an-"
He stopped talking when he realized his last statement.
" Well-"
"Hey, are you guys already complete?" A brunette asked Keith and I.
" No, you can join us!" He immediately answered her after jumping from his stool and urging her to sit on it.
"We aren't a team." I deadpanned but he only chuckled.
"Oh come on...Rie." He slowly mouthed after placing his hands on either sides of my shoulders.
"Never call me that again or else I'll ki-" I paused and glanced over to the confused brunette seated next to me.
"You want to kiss me?" His eyes sparked interest.
"Stop touching me." I shook off his hands but he only maintained a smirk.
"Alright! Alright! Settle down! I assume you all have selected partners?" She paused. " You need to pick a team leader who should first get a sheet of paper and write down the names of the people in the group and then a paper will be passed around for you all to pick a project you'll all do. Understood?" She asked and grumbles erupted from some people.
"Pick a team leader now." She announced and then the class got more rowdy.
" Be our team leader Riona!" Keith folded his arms across his chest.
"No. She can be the team leader, I don't like unnecessary responsibilities." I immediately declined and pointed at the girl next to me.
" I couldn't possibly be the team leader! You can be it!" She raised her hands in the air.
" Come on Riona." Keith whined.
My expression stayed the same.
" Come on Rie." He smirked and I hit his arm.
" Stop calling me that!" I warned. " Fine, I'll be the team leader! Don't blame me if we all fail." I grumbled.
" I know we won't. Your grades mean too much to you." He snorted.
Curse you grades!
