-Grayson pov-

Anna lays her head on my shoulder, sighing softly as her eyes close.

"I can take you home."

She shakes her head. "No, I need to stay with Mae."

"She'll understand."

We sat with Mae. For a little over an hour before she fell asleep and we decided to let her parents and Mark sit with her alone. Ethan took Sky home shortly after and Xavier had to leave.

She nods hesitantly. "Okay."

I gently stand, taking her hands in mine to help her stand. "Come."

She leans into my warmth and I lead her out of the hospital, wrapping my arm around her shoulders. Anna's silent as I help her into the car and drive to her house. I realize how late it is as the roads are empty and the moon is high in the sky.

Soon I'm pulling up to her house, but as I look over to Anna I see that she's fallen asleep. I park the car and quickly get out, walking over to her side.

I slowly open the car door and slide my arms under her knees and behind her back before gently lifting her out of the car.

She softly mumbles as her arms wrap around my neck and she nestles her head into my neck. I shut the car door with my hip and walk toward her house, the motion sensor lights turning on and I make my way up the sidewalk.

I use my fist around her back to lightly knock on the door, I hear footsteps coming from deeper in the house before a robed Mrs. York opens the door, relief on her face.

"Thank you." She whispers, gesturing me inside.

I nod. "I'll take her upstairs."

She smiles, nodding as she pats my back. I step around her and go upstairs the stairs, making sure to keep Anna still. I turn the corner and walk down the hallway, getting to her room. I walk inside the familiar light blue bedroom, the lavender smell encasing me.

I walk over to her bed, setting her small body down on the white comforter as I flip up the blankets on the other side. I gently push her over, pulling her tennis shoes off before I pull the blankets up over her.

She shifts, her eyes opening. "Grayson?"

I smile, running my hand down her hair that's spread over the soft pillow. "Hey Anna."

She hums, smiling. "Come lay with me."

"I have to go."

She pouts. "Please."

"I-I." She cuts off my words as she leans up, placing a sloppy kiss on my lips.

"Lay with me." She mumbles sensually.

I gulp. "Only for a little bit."

She flips the comforter down, patting beside me. "Hold me."

I skip my shoes off before sitting on the bed and sliding under the blankets, her arms instantly wrapping around my middle. "You smell nice."

I laugh, wrapping my own arms around her as her head nestles into my chest. Our legs intertwine and I start run my fingers through her long hair.

"Thank you." She whispers into the dark. "For being my rock tonight."

"Of course Annalise."

"Are we still fake dating?"

"If you want to."

"Sometimes..." She yawns. "Sometimes I want it to be real."

"W-what?" I stutter. "Anna?"

Her light breaths indicate that she had fallen asleep again, leaving me alone in the dark with only my thoughts and her warmth for comfort.

-Anna pov-

"Grayson Dolan you better get your ass out of my daughters bed!" My mother's sharp voice rings through the room, sunlight hitting my eyelids as I barley wake up.

I feel Grayson quickly unwrap his arms from around me, stumbling out of my bed and across the room. "I'm so sorry Mrs. York! N-nothing happened, we-no I fell asleep-!"

She sighs. "Fine, I believe you, but this doesn't happen again okay you two?" She gives a knowing look at both of us, eyeing him especially.

"Yes mom." I smile. "It won't happen again."

He nods nervously. "Sorry again."

She waves it off, walking down the hallway.

Grayson sighs and sits on the bed. "Your mom is scary."

I laugh, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "How?!"

He shrugs. "She just is!"

I chuckle, swinging my legs off the bed. "Wow, that was the best I've slept in years."

He's silent for a moment. "Hey Anna?"

"Yeah?" I walk over to my closet, stretching my arms.

"Did you mean what you said last night? Before you fell asleep?"

I freeze, my body turned away from his. "I-I no, I don't remember saying anything. My last memory is me asking you to come into my bed."

"Oh."

"Yeah." I turn back down, his face crestfallen. "Did I say something weird?"

He shakes his head. "No, I just didn't understand what you meant."

"Oh, well..."

Grayson breaks the tension. "Want to go to the skate park? And then we can visit Mae."

I nod. "Yeah, let me get dressed."

He smiles, taking his leave and shutting my door.

I get dressed, feeling the guilt in my stomach.

I know exactly what I said.

And I meant every word.
