-Annalise pov-

Jacob's hand lay on my lower back, guiding me through the crowd of sweaty bodies. His breath tickles my neck as he bends down. "Let's go get some drinks."

I agree and we go into the kitchen, the island is packed full of different bottles of alcohol. Jacob fills up a red solo cup for himself, pouring multiple bottles into the cup. "What do you want?" He takes a sip of his concoction.

"Soda."

He frowns.

"I told my mom I wouldn't drink."

Jacob sighs and hands me a sprite from a cooler on the floor. His arm wraps around me, and he leads me over into another room, where a game of beer pong is happening. I spot Mark in the crowd and wave him over. He smiles as he walks over to us.

"Hey, Anna I didn't know you were coming!"

"Jacob promised that he would stay by my side all night."

Mark frowns. "Well, I hate to take him from you but he also promised to be my partner for beer pong."

Jacob looks down at me. "Is that okay?"

I force a smile. "Yes, but only one round! I want to dance with you."

"Yeah, of course, babe." He kisses my temple before handing me his drink. "Hold this while I play?" He doesn't wait for my answer and follows Mark over to the beer pong table.

I sigh and lean against the wall, knowing full well that he would convince me to let him play another round, and another round, and another...

-Grayson pov-

Ashleigh gripped onto my arm, her nails digging into my skin. "Let's dance!"

"Uh, Ash I'm not really a dancer.."

She ignores my complaints and pulls me over to the dance floor. The music is too loud, people are too close, and Ashleigh starts grinding on me, I instantly feel claustrophobic. I look around for Ethan, but it seems like Maddie dragged him off somewhere. I sigh and place my hands on Ashleigh's waist.

She looks up at me curiously but continues to dance. After 20 minutes of her sweating all over me, she suddenly stops. "I need a drink." Her eyes meet mine for a split second and I swear I saw fear in them.

She grabs my hand and leads me to the kitchen. I watch as she fills up a cup with several different liquids. She gulps it all down before filling the cup back up. She turns to me. "Aren't you getting anything?"

"No, I'm driving."

She shrugs and downs the cup once again. I watch as she fills the cup for the third time. "Ashleigh, don't you think that's enough?"

She giggles. "No, I'm just getting started silly." She slaps my chest. "Come on I want to go dance some more."

I follow her out of the kitchen, hoping she'll pass out so I can take her home then go to bed. We pass a doorway and I peer in to see a vicious game of beer pong going on. I turn to follow Ashleigh when I see her. She looks stunning in a short navy blue dress, her long dark hair glossy in the dim lights. She looks bored as she leans against the wall, her arms crossed. I follow her gaze to see Jacob standing on the opposite side of the room, talking to his dumb soccer friends.

I watch as Annalise shakes her head and steps away from the wall, making her way to the doorway I'm standing in. Ashleigh's nails dig into my skin. "Come onnn."

But I stay frozen as Anna walks over to me. This is my chance, while Jacob is distracted. She reaches the doorway and looks up to meet my eyes. I offer a small smile and take a step forward.
