-Anna pov-

"You look beautiful honey." My mom kisses my cheek, smiling at me in the mirror.

"Thank you." I tilt my head, making sure my makeup was perfect.

Today was the day. Graduation. I was about to be done with my high school career.

I am wearing a silky white dress and white heels, my hair curled and pulled away from my face that was done in simple but eye-catching makeup. Before the ceremony I'll put on my red gown over my dress and red hat to represent our school colors–red and white.

"I'm so proud of you." She whispers. "So proud."

I turn to hug her, my chin resting on her shoulder. "I love you."

She hugs the back of my head, sighing deeply. "Love you too sweetie."

We both turn our heads at the sudden commotion from downstairs. "I'm home!" Xavier calls, bounding up the stairs with my dad following him.

They both stop when they see me, my dad smiling softly.

"Anna-." Xavier steps forward. "Y-you're all grown up now." He smiles sadly before gathering me in a bear-hug.

I chuckle, hugging him back. "Thanks for coming Xavier."

"Of course." He lets me go, my dad quickly gathering me in an embrace.

I shrieked, clasping his back. "You're going to ruin my makeup!"

He laughs. "My little girl is graduating, let me give her one last hug."

"I'm not going anywhere dad, I'm taking a year before I decide what to do."

"I know, but it'll be different." He lets me go, kissing my forehead. "Love you Anna-bean."

I giggle at the nickname. "Love you too Dad."

I take a last look at my loving family. "I'll meet you all there, I have to pick up Grayson first."

They nod, giving me quick hugs and exchanging "see you there" and "I love you" as I grab my purse, red gown, and red cap as I walk out the door. I get into my car and soon I'm on my way to Grayson's.

Sadly, Ethan isn't allowed to walk with us due to the fight. Jacob isn't either, but it still doesn't seem fair.

Since all the students have to be early to practice seating and walking–because apparently we could forget to walk–I volunteered to pick up Grayson because he can't drive himself.

Today's not only the day that I graduate, but also the day I tell him how I really feel. It's time to be honest to myself and to Gray.

I park across the street from his house since his driveway is full. I take a deep breath, smoothing the wrinkles on my dress. I step out of my car, walking up the sidewalk and knocking on the door. His mother, Lisa, opens the door with a big smile.

"Anna! You look so pretty!" She squeals, gesturing me in.

"Thank you Lisa."

"Grayson's taking a quick nap upstairs, I figured you could wake him up." She explains. "The medication he's on makes him sleepy."

"Oh okay, thank you." I smile at her as I walk up the stairs to Grayson's room, lightly knocking on the door before I step inside. "Gray?"

The room is dark, only a slim amount of light coming from behind the shades. I step toward the bed, Grayson's sleeping figure under the blankets. I walk over to the edge of the bed, his sleeping face coming into view.

I bend down, my hand reaching out to caress his cheek. "Gray wake up." He sighs deeply, still asleep as I gently run my fingers through his hair. "Come on we have to go-."

He interrupts me. "Anna..."

I giggle. "Come on Gray, we're going to be late-."

He breathes deeply, his eyes still closed. "Do you want this...?" He mumbles.

I lean back on my heels, my hand moving away from his face.

He suddenly smirks in his sleep, his voice turning deeper. "Lay down."

"G-gray?" I stutter, feeling nauseous.

"I've always wanted you..." He mutters.

My hand flies up to cover my mouth, fully realizing what was happening. I gasp as he suddenly sits up, breathing heavily and running his hands through his hair. He doesn't notice me as he leans over, head in hands.

I sit on the floor watching him in horror, my breathing sporadic. He must have noticed my heavy breathing since his head flips toward me.

"What the-." He shakes his head. "Anna?"

My mouth opens and closes, no words coming to my tongue as a tear slips down my face. He instantly hops out of the bed, coming to kneel beside me. "What's wrong?"

"W-were you dreaming about me?" I choke out.

His face pales. "How-?"

"Answer me."

He doesn't meet my eyes. "Yes."

I wait for his explanation.

He takes a deep breath. "Sometimes I have dreams about you...about how things could be. Between us." He meets my eyes during the last phrase, longing in his gaze.

I feel sick to my stomach, so that's why he wanted to be together. To fulfill his dreams about me.

"It's not real." I whisper, another tear rolling down my cheek.

"But-."

"It's not real Grayson, it's just a fantasy." I put all the pieces together, admitting it to him and to myself.

We both just want fantasies of each other. I want someone who's not Jacob and he wants the version of me that only exists in his dreams. The Anna that he apparently sleeps with.

I meet his eyes. "So that's why you wanted to date me? To fulfil some weird sexual dreams that you have about me?"

His eyes widen. "N-no, please that had nothing to do with-."

"Don't lie to me, not anymore." I stand, smoothing my dress. "I need to leave."

He grabs my arm. "No, please let me explain Anna!"

I rip my arm out of his grasp. "I can't do this right now." My voice cracks. I swiftly run from the room, knowing that he can't run after me. I race down the steps and out the door before anyone else can see me crying. I run down the sidewalk, my heels clicking on the stone as I hear Grayson's deep voice yelling my name.

"I love you!"

I turn my head at the words just as a loud blaring horn fills my ears and everything goes dark.
