I woke up with a smile on my face, I was finally going to see my best friend. I was owling her all summer trying to set up a date with her so we can meet up in Diagon Alley to get our school supplies. We finally settled on August 2nd and today was the day.

Lily Evans was my best friend, she's a Gryffindor unfortunately, but it still hadn't hindered our friendship at all. I met her on our first day at Hogwarts through Severus, a mutual friend of ours, and a fellow Slytherin, and ever since then we've been attached at the hip. She is like the sister I never had and one of the smartest, brightest, and just most amazing witch or wizard I know (I'd never let her know it though).

Over the years as me and Lily's friendship developed, I grew to dislike Severus. I think he hates me because I'm closer to Lily than he is, and everyone knows that he's had a crush on her ever since he saw her. It's honestly hilarious because at the end of the term last year, Lily came out to me as a lesbian. The dumb witch thought I'd care or something and not be friends with her, said that she had been plucking up the courage to tell me all year. I really don't understand why she thought I'd care, probably due to my lovely parent's upbringing, but regardless I let her know that I couldn't give two flying fucks who she liked, she is who she is regardless, and as a bonus Severus didn't know and the man was blindly in love with a lesbian. Now that was a great way to end fourth year.

Another Gryffindor friend I had was Remus Lupin. My curious ass found out first year that he was a werewolf. Honestly anyone with half a brain could figure it out, it was quite simple really. He would be ill or visit someone every month and disappear for a few days and when he came back he was always exhausted. I was so curious how a first year was able to miss all his classes with permission from the teachers so I looked into it more, and found that his disappearances coincided with the full moon. So after one full moon in first year, I snuck into the hospital wing and saw him there passed out with bandages all over his body and it confirmed my suspicions. I was pretty sure I was not supposed to know so I left and pretended all month that I knew nothing. But around the next full moon, I felt bad with all the work he was missing out, so I wrote an extra copy of notes in each of my classes, grabbed a chocolate frog from my candy stash and snuck into the hospital wing again. My plan was to leave him the notes and chocolate next to him and bolt, but when I arrived he was actually awake.

Looking back, that was quite funny, but in the moment I looked like a deer caught in headlights. Remus gaped blankly at me with his mouth slightly open, while I stared back with a guilty expression on my face. We stared at each other for a solid two minutes before I opened my mouth and said,

"Chocolate?" whilst offering the chocolate frog in my hand to him.

He smiled slightly and took it,

"I also umm- I took down extra notes for you in class, because you missed them y'know" I said awkwardly

He looked at me in utter bewilderment, and said sharply,

"What- why?

"Well umm..." I trailed off

I looked into his eyes, back down to his bandaged body, then back up into his eyes again,

"It's quite obvious, at least to me I mean, wait- no, I know no one is supposed to know, i-it really isn't that obvious I mean, I just figured, only because I was curious how a first year was allowed to miss classes, e-especially you, you like school I mean-" I stammered out struggling to put into words looking around frantically, but when I met his eyes again he was smiling slightly. It was an exhausted smile of relief, weirdly, which stopped me from continuing.

"I swear I wont tell anyone," I said after a long silent moment

"James was wrong," Remus finally said after another long pause
