The summer started out great. It was really productive. I dedicated all of my time towards balancing different meetings and missions for both the death eaters and the order. I was honestly shocked at how good everything was going so far. I mean I know eventually I was going to get caught, and something was going to go wrong, but I did not expect myself to be able to keep it up as long as I did. I mean fooling one of the strongest wizards of our time came with its difficulties but I was smart with the intel I leaked. I always made sure I was not the only one who knew, so that I would not be the only one suspected. I was careful of when and what information I told, even leaking information that I overhear or am not supposed to know, that way the spy could be anybody. I even leaked information on one of my own missions so people would know it wasn't me, because why would the spy sabotage their own mission, right?
Man I'm a fucking genius.
But it did not take long for Voldemort to realize that we had a spy in our midst. I had been leaking information for a couple months now and it's not like he's dumb. This led to every single death eater being interrogated. I was able to resist my interrogation and he did not even suspect me in the first place so he didn't interrogate me for long. He didn't think a 16 year old had the nerve to double cross him, and I get that. It's why it's such a good plan. I even offered to spy on other death eaters for Voldemort and helped raise suspicion far away from me. I pointed out that some death eaters never ran into aurors, which meant they could possibly be the spy. Voldemort took my suggestion into consideration and interrogated those death eaters a bit longer than usual. He grew frustrated coming up with nothing day after day. I suggested that he split us into groups and have different meetings with everyone to see which information got leaked, maybe narrowing down the source. Voldemort ended up doing that and I was careful what to leak then. I was able to overhear one of the other groups information and leaked that throwing Voldemort fully off my scent.
When it came to the order, I worked mainly on strategizing and creating missions for everyone. I soon gained the respect of everyone, even Mary and John, the couple that doubted me at first. I got along great with everyone. I got to my meetings through a portkey. Well not exactly. They gave me a pocket watch (the portkey) and every meeting, which was almost everyday now that I was in summer and planning everything for everyone, I would touch it at the designated time and it would take me to a different area every time. There a member of the order would be waiting for me to apparate to the designated order safe house for that day. I'll give it to Dumbledore, he took his precautions. I wanted to go on a few in field missions but at first it was too high of a risk to be be seen by possible death eaters or anyone for that matter. But eventually I was able to convince the order to let me go on a few missions, although I wore a mask. Mark commented on that and said it was like a superhero or something. I don't know much about muggle film but Mark sure does know a lot. Speaking of Mark, I grew much closer to him and the Prewett brothers over the summer. We got along great and worked great as a group in the field as well. I just told my parents I was seeing friends, but they stopped questioning me, and gave me more freedom ever since I had gotten the dark mark. So they were never an issue.
Everything was going according to plan, and I was doing great for once. But I should know by now that nothing this good ever lasts this long.
It all wend downhill in August. It had been five months since I got my dark mark. I maybe got a bit too comfortable with everything going according to plan which was probably my downfall. The Prewett brothers, Mark and I had just finished a mission and were reporting back to the safe house in the meeting per usual routine. After the meeting ended Mark was the one assigned to take me back so I could use the portkey home.
"See you later boys," I said waving at the Prewett brothers,
"See you Reigna, Bye Mark!" They said together before apparating away,
