Chapter 50- Love Potion Gone Wrong

The first week back Slughorn announced that he would have a welcome back dinner. Usually for his dinner's it is more intimate and he only invites his favorite students. For the larger parties we have plus ones. The dinners consist of mainly 6th and 7th years, but Lily and I had been going since we were in 5th year as he especially was impressed with our potion skills (including Snape but I'm currently pretending he doesn't exist.) This also currently includes Regulus despite him currently being a 5th year

I decided to get ready with Lily in her dorm so I could hang out with James and Marlene before I headed out. 

"What do you think of this skirt?" Lily asked as she faced herself in the mirror,

"You look gorgeous Lil'," I replied with a smile.

"Yeah babe you look really sexy," Marlene smirked at her,

"I like it," James added with an awkward thumbs up. This made us all laugh. I was wearing a long gold silk skirt with a basic black high-neck top, nothing over the top as it was just a dinner. As I finished putting my earrings in James asked, "So when does this thing end anyways?"

"Um, usually takes about 2 hours, wouldn't you say so Lil?" I asked her for extra confirmation.

"Yeah, longest it's taken was about 2 hours and a half, why do you ask James?" Lily responded,

"No reason, it's just still early so I wanted to see if we'd have time to hang out after the dinner?" he said sheepishly

"Aww, you're going to miss me that much? Don't worry love, I'll sneak away some food for you and you can meet me outside Slughorn's office at 8, does that work?" I smiled at him

He rolled his eyes at me and got up to peck me, "That's perfect, see you then!" He said giddily, "Also you look very very sexy," He whispered in my ear before walking out of the room. I flushed in response but looked down and adjusted my shoes so Lily and Marlene didn't notice.

"You ready?" Lily glanced at herself one last time,

"You look amazing babe, don't fuss," Marlene turned her around.

"Thank you," Lily pecked her, "Alright let's go," She told me as we turned to leave the room.

The dinner went as it usually does, Slughorn asking each member about their famous parents or special skills and was quite boring. We got up towards the end of the meal to have dessert and drinks while socializing. Lily and I grabbed our drink as we made a beeline to the ice cream station.

"I'm pretty sure this ice cream is the main reason we come," I giggled to Lily,

"It's just so good," Lily agreed giggling as she took a bite of the ice cream. 

"Reigna can I talk to you for a second?" Someone piped from behind me,

"No," I responded bluntly already knowing who it was,

"Please Reigna, this is really important," Regulus said with a really urgent tone. As much as I hate the boy I turned to him and his face genuinely shocked me. He looked like he had just seen a dead body. If he still is working for Voldemort I wouldn't put it past him, but despite that, he was just a boy. 

"Excuse me," I sighed to Lily. I put down my ice cream on the table and walked away with Regulus, "What is it?" I asked sharply once we were in a secluded corner of the room. I saw Lily out of the corner of my eye move closer to us and gave me a look to make me know she had my back. That relaxed me a bit.

"I'm getting w-worried," Regulus stammered,

"Alright, about what?" I responded.

"Worried about-" He sighed, "You know what, maybe I shouldn't tell you, this is a bad idea," He shook his head,
