Chapter 9: Can I borrow the helicopter?

April 11th Davenport Lab (Bree's POV)-

We were in the lab, I was on the phone with Maddie, talking about her date later this afternoon. Adam and Chase are bothering me and laughing together.

"Maddie, calm down, okay? Calm down, the date is going to be fine." I said to Maddie who was worried because she didn't think the date would go well.

"Yes, Maddie, calm down!" Chase yelled into my phone that was against my ear.

"Yeah, you need to CHILL OUT!" Adam yelled before I tried to push away from them. Adam and Chase laughed.

"Uhh! Hey, breath okay just breath. That is, like, totally normal. He isn't a monster and your like gorgeous so don't worry about looks." I explained stopping her from hyperventilating. "No, no, no! Please don't cry, why are you crying?" She tried to explain but I couldn't hear her through Adam and Chase screaming.

"I am so sick of you!" I said to Adam and Chase. Maddie thought it was to her."No, no, no! I'm not sick of you, Maddie. Maybe just have some tea and calm down before Braydon comes over." I tried.

"Yeah, or maybe he'll like a girl that is more high strung than a violin." Adam laughed. Chase elbowed Adam.

"Too far dude. She's still our friend too." He explained before smirking.

"Maddie, hold on!" I got into my capsule.

"Ooh!" Chase said, acting impressed. I silently laugh at Adam and Chase through the soundproof capsule and go back to my call.

"Okay, what were you saying?" I asked Maddie.

"I got this." Chase pushes some buttons and my phone goes flying into the capsule's ceiling. There is a metallic clang. Please don't be cracked. Adam and Chase laugh, then high five. "I love magnets!" Chase added.

I tried reaching for my phone but couldn't reach.

Davenport Lab (Chase's POV)-

"So how'd it go?" Maddie asked me over the phone.

"Well Bree really believes you care about your date and definitely doesn't think that I like you enough to not try and mess with you." I explained. I was alone in the lab. Bree had left to find Mr. Davenport and I got Adam to follow her. "You know I didn't mean any of that stuff thought right?" I asked.

"Yep. Just like I didn't mean any of that stuff about caring about the date. If anything I hope it doesn't go well cause it will be really awkward if I have to dump him." She explained.

"How were you able to cry? That was a good touch." I added.

"I don't know." She said sheepishly. "I just thought about what would happen if this somehow messed up things between us. This was my idea Chase, if something happens to us it'll be my fault."

"Nothing like that is gonna happen." I assured her. "I'm in this for the long run Madds." I could almost hear a wide smile on her lips at my words.

"What did I do to deserve you?" She sighed.

"Nothing at all, it's me who's lucky to be with you Madds." I explained.

"Oh my gosh!" She realized. "Did I tell you that Braydon tried to call me Madds? It was so awkward and made me sick to my stomach." She said with her beautiful laugh coming through the phone. I couldn't help but join her.

"Hah. I guess that's our thing." I laughed. "Just like Spike and Sparks." I teased.

"You know he's kinda growing on me." She said. "Knowing that Spike's feelings for me come from yours makes Spike kinda hot." I raised my eyebrows at this.
