July 20th Davenport Lab (Maddie's POV)-

Today was one of my favorite days to work because it was training day. Davenport and I would teach the bionic sibling new fighting styles and practice with them to keep them sharp. He had started letting me join a while back when I explained to him that I practice fighting for self defense, so I usually am a bit more skilled than Adam and Bree. I used to only love this day because it was fun to spar but recently it's been more exciting to see Chase working out.

At the moment Bree was using the punching dummy, Chase and Adam were practicing in hand to hand combat, and I was stretching. "All right, guys, gather up. Today, we are going to be studying one of the most time-honored traditions in Japanese culture."

"Ooh! Nun chuck combat?" Bree asked as the three came to stand in front of him on the mat.

"Samurai sword fighting?" Chase guessed.

"Wrestling ginormous dudes in diapers?" Adam said mimicking sumo wrestlers.

"We will be studying the great martial art of aikido, the key principle of which is to deflect your aggressor's attack by using his own speed and strength against him." He explained.

"Can we just get to the part where I obliterate them?" Bree said, being so very smug, before Davenport's ringtone went off.

"I have to take this. Uh, it's about money. Which is not more important than you, but is a very close second." She said leaving the room.

"Hey, Adam, attack me." Oh great they're already being dumb.

"Okay. Your hair is stupid, you're short, your face is weird, you're weird." Adam started.

"I meant hit me." Chase groaned.

"Okay, good, because that was going to be a really long list." Adam laughed getting into his fighting position.

"Wait, wait, wait. Are you sure about this?" Bree said voiced her concerns. Adam is ten times stronger than you." I was worried but I trusted Chase wouldn't do something that they'd actually get hurt.

"Doesn't matter. With aikido, a weak opponent can defeat a much stronger one." I released a breath as he explained his reasoning.

"Ah, but what if the weaker opponent fits neatly into an overhead storage bin?" Adam gestured a small box and at this point if Chase didn't take him down I would. "I'm talking about you."

"Just hit me." The two brothers got into fighting position and Adam charged at Chase.

Chase used his momentum to dodge and flip him over onto the floor. Adam was groaning but still surprised and laying on the ground. I would be lying if I said my thoughts were completely innocent after his show of strength.

"And that's all you need to know about aikido." Chase gloated. He could be a bit condescending, especially when he was trying to impress me. His ego would get too big if I told him what I thought when he was working out.

"Oh, I get it." Bree grabbed Chase and flipped him onto the ground.

"Bree, that's not aikido!" He groaned.

"Oh, really? My bad." She laughed as Adam and her did their little handshake bowing over Chase to mock him before leaving.

I moved over to help him up, "Come on tough guy we're not done."

"Thanks." He said before becoming confused. "What else do we need to work on?"

"Bo staff." I tossed him the skinny wooden poll.
