In the morning Newt and I said goodbye to Minho and Alby. We watched them run into the maze.
It was the afternoon now and all the gladers stood around the maze doors anxiously waiting for Minho and Alby's return.
"What if?" I start to say but I am cut off by Gally who is kneeling beside me "They'll be fine, they'll be back any moment". Almost like it was planned Thomas calls out "look!" pointing to two figures he quickly realises something isn't right. "Wait something isn't right" he says drawing everyone's attention to Minho who is struggling to help Alby back.
"Come on Minho you can do it!" Chuck calls out. Everyone follows in his lead calling out words and phrases to help Minho get back in time. "He's not going to make it" Newt says with a twang of pain in his chest.
And in a split second Thomas is running through the almost fully closed doors. Newt reaches out for his hand to stop him but Thomas is to far away. Boom the doors have locked shut. Everyone stands there silent and in shock.
