Chapter 73

"See you when I get back" I say to Brenda as I climb down a ladder into the an underground tunnel.

We walk through the tunnel mostly in silence until Gally speaks up. "I see you've lost a few people" he says not looking at us. Thomas has a look on his face that says this bitch all over it. I assume he means we don't have Winston with us anymore but we've lost so much more than just one person.

"We got a couple new people to help us as well" I say. "Uh yea I saw them too" Gally says not sure how to respond. The rest of the walk Gally and I are talking.

"Thank you for convincing Lawrence to let me come" I say.
"I didn't do much to be honest, it's nice to see you again" he says. Gally grabs my hand but I pull my hand out of his. "I umm... I can't" is the only reason I can come up with for letting go of his hand.

We walk through a door that opens up to the inner city. I thought the outer city was crowded until I came here. People walk so close they are almost touching shoulders.

Within minutes everyone is off the streets and it's just us. We all stop to look around. "We best get off the streets" Gally says but we all don't move still taking everything in. "This is a long way from the glade" Newt says.
"I know it's hard but act like you've seen it before" Gally sighs and walks off so we'll have to follow him.
