Ian and Mickey finished and finally settled down in their new apartment for a couple months now. After selling the Gallagher's old house and everyone taking their share of the money, Ian managed to get the apartment started. They got new couch, a new bed, dressers, lamps, tables, and chairs. Instead of the plain white empty room, it was not sorted with colors of grey, black, and forest green mixed together. It was coming together beautifully.

After deciding together to cut off the weed business, saving it only for certain events, Mickey and Ian got better jobs. Both pays being great. Ian got his EMT job back, he loved getting a second chance and swore not to mess it up. Kev and V moved to Kentucky and decided to give the Alibi to Mickey, he even now runs Kev-Fit. He kept the name the same because he wanted to honor his buddy, Kevin.

The Alibi brought in more customers, daily. Mickey turned the place around well and started bringing in loads of cash. Those gentrifiers loved the Alibi, supposedly had a nice "aesthetic". Mickey didn't really care about whoever came and left, he was bringing in money and it was for him and Ian.

It was later in the evening, Ian was out in the garden area checking on his tomatoes. After a while of chatting with his garden neighbor, Melody, he found himself heading back to the apartment. As he walked by the dumpsters and trash area, he could hear tiny whimpers. He frowned and stopped, thinking he imagined it. Again, the tiny whimpers flooded his ears. He moved the gate that was in his way, behind it was a crate, it had a blanket over it. Ian looked around, making sure nobody had left in there and ran to get something. Nothing, it was just a whimpering lonely crate. He sighed and squatted down. He pulled the blanket off and he almost melted at the sight.

"Hi buddy." Ian cooed as he looked down at the crate.

Inside the crate, a small grey baby pit-bull laid. The nose area, stomach, chest, and feet covered in white. Ian awed as the tiny pup stood on its legs.

"What are you doing out here all by yourself, huh?" He asked and the pup stood on its back legs, leaning up on the crate, sniffing Ian.

Ian carefully let the tiny pup smell his hand before he petted it. Ian smiled as the tiny pup warmed up to him quickly, so quickly it leaped out the crate and down to the ground. The pup walked and jumped into Ian's lap.

"Awww, who would leave a sweet thing like you out here?" Ian asked and the pup snuggled up to him.

Ian carefully picked up the pup and checked it out, making sure no cuts or scratches. He frowned as he saw nothing, he saw it was a little skinny. He figured the pup was there for a while since it was crying, maybe someone couldn't take care of him? Ian frowned at the thought.

As he brought it closer to his face, the pup licked Ian. Ian giggled and smiled. He couldn't leave him there, not like this. Ian took his sweatshirt off and wrapped the pup up, thankfully he had his keys in his pocket.

"Mickeys gonna freak when he sees you." Ian said and walked out the area, he began walking to his car in the parking lot.

Even if the pup was going to stay with them for a while until Ian could call the shelter or talk to Mickey about keeping him, the pup still needed stuff. A few things, just a few things, key word: few.

Ian got a shit load of stuff.

At the trip to Pet Smart, Ian got a bed, a dog bowel, puppy pads, puppy food, dog shampoo, a collar, some chew toys, and regular dog toys. He didn't mean to go crazy, he really didn't. But everything was there and he felt like the pup needed them. Ian was already getting attached.

Mickey walked down the hallway to their apartment, he wanted to lay down with his husband and catch up on some episodes of The Walking Dead, he just wanted to relax. After shuffling with his keys for a bit, he opened the door. As he opened the door, a tiny red ball hit the wall next to him.

"What the hell?" He whispered and sat his keys down.

He looked up and could hear claws running against the floor of their apartment. He looked under the table and could see a tiny grey blob running towards him. He smiled then looked up to see Ian coming over towards him.

"What the hell is that and where did you get it?" Mickey asked with a smile and Ian raised his hands up.

Taking notice of the stranger, the tiny pup began yelping, not fully able to bark yet. The tiny pup grabbed his ball and walked over to Ian, dropping it by his feet.

"Okay, hey, before you get upset." Ian said and bent down to pick up the small puppy.

"Look at him, look at his small face." Ian cooed and Mickey smiled at the dork his husband was.

"I can see his small face, where did you get him?" Mickey asked with a small laugh.

"I found him by the dumpsters, he was alone and I just figured maybe someone threw him away." Ian said as he petted the back of the pups ears.

Mickey carefully leaned his hand out, the pup jerked back but the leaned again, smelling him. He licked Mickeys finger tips and both men smiled. Mickey began petting him and Ian looked at Mickey.

"You upset?" Ian asked not knowing of Mickey was okay with the idea.

"Upset, why? He's a cute little guy." Mickey said and scratched the pups ears.

"Always wanted a dog." Mickey admitted and Ian smiled at him.

Ian handed the pup to Mickey and Mickey hesitated for a second, then took him into his hands. The pup snuggled into Mickey and Mickey smiled. The pup was relaxed enough to the point he laid down in Mickeys arm and rested. Mickey hummed and smiled.

"You name him yet?" Mickey asked and Ian shook his head.

"Nah, wanted to wait, name him together." Ian said and Mickey smiled again.

"Ooh, uh, hey, what about Bazooka, since I can't actually have a bazooka here, we can name him that." Mickey suggested and Ian rolled his eyes.

"We are not naming our dog Bazooka." Ian said and Mickey scoffed.

"Why not, sounds badass?" Mickey asked and Ian shook his head.

"Do you really want us taking him to the park and yelling "Bazooka!" I'm pretty sure everyone will think it's an attack and run." Ian explained and Mickey laughed.

"Okay, okay, fine, what about, hmm, what about Zuke?" Mickey suggested and Ian smiled.

At the name, the pup lifted his head and looked at the two men. Mickey smiled and looked at Ian.

"Yeah? You like that buddy, Zuke?" Ian asked and Zuke turned to him at the name again.

Mickey smiled and pat him, rubbing his tiny ears.

"Yeah, little Zuke." He said and Ian smiled.

That night, Ian laid on his side, arms over Mickey. Mickey on his side as well, soft snores filled the room. Both men cuddled together, legs and arms draped over each other. By their feet laid a peaceful tiny Zuke, softly snoring as he slept with his new dads.
