Different version of the proposal scene and no Cole ( sorry to all the Cole lovers) different date Ian takes.
————————————————————
Ian stared at his phone then at the black box in front of him. He picked it up once then laid it back down.

"Fuck." He whispered to himself. He took a swig of his beer and stared at the phone.

He picked his phone up again and unlocked it, swiping to the contacts. Before he could push the contact button he turned his phone off again and placed it down.

"Idiot." He said to himself and leaned back on the chair.

"Just call him." Ian said and held his phone. He cleared his throat and clicked the contact.

His palms started sweating when he heard the phone click on, meaning the other line picked up.

"Hello." The man said and Ian gasped at hearing his voice again. "Hello." The man asked again and Ian stuttered out some words.

"Ian?" The man asked and Ian laughed awkwardly.

"Hey." Ian said and the man laughed.

"I haven't heard from you in the while, how are you?" The man asked and Ian smiled to himself.

"Sorta in something right now, trying my best." He said and the man sighed.

"Tell me about it." The man said and Ian smiled.

As Ian told the man everything that happened between him and Mickey he could hear the other man sighing. Ian was afraid to tell him everything but it seemed like the man understood and even felt sorry for him.

"That really sucks." The man said and Ian nodded.

"Look I'm calling cause I wanted to ask a favor." He said and could hear the man shift.

"I'm listening." The man said and Ian smiled.

"I need you to be my date tonight, that Byron tool suggested a double date and I kinda told them I had someone." Ian said and could hear the man laughing.

"Jesus Christ Ian." The man said while laughing.

"Look I had no other choice it just came out, I mean it's better than going with you that a complete stranger." He said and the man still laughed.

"As weird as this shit is already, yeah I'll help you." He said and Ian eyebrows shot up.

"You will?" He asked in shock.

"Yeah man." The other man said and Ian laughed.

"Fucking fantastic, it's at 7:00 pm tonight, we can head there together, catch up as well." He said and the man agreed.

They discussed meeting times and their plan. They said their goodbyes. Ian smiled then relaxed into the chair and stared at the black box, he closed his eyes until a knock from the door made him jump. He grabbed his crutches and hobbled to the kitchen door.

"Mickey?" Ian asked and moved back as Mickey walked in.

"What are you doing here?" Ian asked then sat down, taking a sip of his beer.

"Came to talk to you." Mickey answered.

"What did you need Mick?" Ian asked and Mickey stared at him. Mickey looked down to the floor then back at him, eyeing the beer bottle.

"You're not suppose to be drinking on your meds." He mumbled and Ian looked at him.

They shared a look and stared at each other. As fucked up as Ian was, Mickey still and would always care for him.

"So just like that, you moved on?" Mickey asked and snapped his fingers, Ian frowned and stared at him.

"What? You did first." He said and Mickey frowned and closed his eyes.

"Yeah but that doesn't mean you do it too." He said and Ian laughed.

"So you can fuck some twink you just met like three days ago but I can't get with someone else." He said and Mickey stared at him.

"I didn't think you would move on that quickly, it surprised me, I never thought would do that." Mickey said and Ian stared at him.

"I don't know what you want Mickey." Ian said and Mickey stared at him.

"You want something that I can't figure out, it's confusing." He added.

"You're upset that I'm seeing someone when you did the exact same thing." Ian said and Mickey shook his head.

"Promise rings were a no, my apologies you don't want to hear, everything is difficult because I'm confused as shit. I'm not even mad even though you were the one that left." Ian said and stared at him.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Mickey asked and Ian shook his head. He reached for his beer until Mickey grabbed it from him.

"This." He said holding the beer. "It's going to mess you up." He addd and Ian rolled his eyes.

Ian stared at wall and Mickey took a chug. "What the hell do you mean what am I talking about?" Ian asked remembering Mickey question. Mickey stared at him and shrugged.

Ian scoffed as Mickey finished the beer and threw it in the trash.

"After the court house, we could have talked about this but we didn't, you left." Ian said angrily and Mickey looked away from him.

"Ian." Mickey said noticing the anger in his voice.

"You left Mickey, instead of us talking you left and found Byron." Ian yelled and Mickey called his name again.

"You left, you left, I didn't push the door, hell I didn't force you to leave you left in the middle of the night when I fell asleep, I had to wake up all alone!" Ian yelled.

"Well what the hell was I supposed to do!" Mickey yelled back.

"What is any person supposed to do when their boyfriend doesn't go through a marriage, not to mention I signed the fucking papers first!" He yelled and Ian shook his head.

"Get out." Ian said and Mickey stared at him.

"Excuse me?" Mickey asked raising his eyebrows.

"Please just go, we are getting to upset, I don't want us saying things we'll regret." Ian said and Mickey scoffed.

Ian's phone rang and Mickey looked down at the name. 'Trevor' the contact name said. Ian picked his phone up and answered.

"Hey Trev." Ian answered. "Trev?" Mickey whispered and Ian looked away.

"Yeah tonight...I don't know...wear what you want...Jesus...okay...yeah...bye." Ian said on the phone. Ian stared at his phone and Mickey looked at him almost broken.

Mickey wasn't dumb, whoever Trevor was, he was with Ian now. Ian looked down sadly and placed his phone on the table.

"Better get going, Byrons probably wondering about you." Ian whispered  and Mickey stared at him.

"I'll see you tonight." Ian said sadly and rubbed his head.

"Tonight, yeah I'll see you tonight." Mickey said gloomy. He turned and began walking to the door.

"I don't want you to leave, I just don't want us to say things we can't take back, things we don't mean." He said and Mickey stared at him.

"Yeah, I don't want that either." Mickey said and walked out the door.

"Later Gallagher." Mickey said and Ian smiled. "Bye." He said and sadly waved.
