Chapter 13: Classroom Brawls

“HOWLETT!” Dayton yelled, storming into the room and grabbing Logan by the collar of his shirt.

“What did you do with it.” He growled in a menacing tone, pulling Logan down so they were looking each other in the eyes. Logan smiled at him and tilted his head to the side.

“I’m sorry Sir, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He said cheerfully.

“Like hell you don’t.” Dayton said, shoving Logan backwards roughly and curling his hand into a fist.

“Where are the tapes!” He demanded, blood sliding down his fingers from pressing his nails into his palm too hard.

“What tapes Sir?” Logan asked tilting his head to the side, his eyes sparkling with ill-concealed mirth.

“Where are the damn security tapes Howlett!” The man howled, slamming his fist against the whiteboard and taking another threatening step towards Logan.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about Sir, perhaps if you took a moment to calm down?” Logan suggested, putting his hands up defensively and taking a step backward. To all the world an innocent man but for the smirk that was curling his lip.

“What did you do!” Dayton roared, becoming more and more volatile by the second.

“What’s going on here?” One of his colleagues, Bane Sloan, asked walking into the room and expecting to see students fighting.

“I know you did something Howlett, and if you won’t tell me then maybe your little girlfriend will.” Dayton said in a quiet, threatening tone, turning slowly to look at Saya and grinning wickedly at her. Logan’s easy smile fell and he stepped in front of Dayton, towering over him.

“Keep her out of this.” Logan said, his eyes flashing dangerously.

“Tell me where the tape is then.” Dayton said, glaring back at Logan.

“I already told you I don’t know anything about any tape, but you’re stepping over a major boundary by threatening a student,” Logan said quietly, his demeanor calm but ominous. “Now I suggest you get out of my classroom and go collect yourself before you make this any worse for yourself.”

“Don’t talk to me about overstepping boundaries Howlett.” Dayton snarled, pushing past Logan and looming over Saya’s desk.

“What did you do!” He demanded, bringing his fist down on the desk. The wood cracked under the force and Saya leapt up quickly, taking a few steps backwards sending Logan a worried glance. She wasn’t sure how to handle this.

“WHERE ARE THEY!” Dayton roared at her, his fist curling for another strike.

Suddenly Logan was in front of her, holding the man’s wrist and snarling down at him.

 “Back off.” He growled.

“Or what.” Dayton spat back, stepping up to Logan but unable to free his wrist.

“Or I’ll break you’re god damn wrist.” Logan said, applying pressure to it and effectively dropping the man to his knees.

“And if you still want to try your luck then I’ll break every other bone in your body till I get my message across,” Logan hissed, his grey eyes black with rage.

“Now back off!” He snarled, releasing his grip on the man’s wrist.

Dayton got shakily to his feet and glared at Logan, sizing him up and weighing his chances. He decided to go for it, taking a step forward and swinging his fist at Logan.

Logan did nothing to avoid the hit allowing it to connect with his jaw before bringing his fist into the principles stomach and watching the man fall back to his knees.

Logan crouched down, balancing on the balls of his feet and grabbing a fist full of Dayton’s hair and yanking his head back so they were looking at each other.

“Don’t fuck with me,” Logan said in a low whisper that carried around the room. “Or I swear to God by the time I’m done with you, you’ll be begging me to kill you.”

Dayton whimpered and Logan let his head fall back, standing up slowly and turning to his colleague.

“Get him out of my classroom please, I need a smoke.” He said, leaving the room and beaconing for Saya to follow him.

“Sy,” Logan said when they stepped out of the double-doors and into the parking lot. “Are you okay?”

Saya sighed warily and leaned back against Logan, resting the back of her head against his chest and closing her eyes.

 “I’m fine,” She muttered. “You?”

“Fine,” He said, lighting a cigarette and taking a drag from it. “Scared the living hell out of me when he went for you though, I wasn’t expecting that.”

Ya, no kidding. She thought, rubbing her temples and groaning.

“Headache?” Logan asked, looking down at her and taking another draw from his cigarette.

“Something like that.” She muttered as he leaned back against the building and slid down the wall, bringing Saya with him so she rested between his knees and could lie back on him.

“Anything I can do to help?” He asked, running a hand through her hair  as she rested her head on his shoulder.

“Already have.” She muttered sleepily, yawning and curling against him. Logan grinned had looked up at the sky. What had they gotten themselves into?

[A/N: So just for the record: NO Logan isn’t a werewolf either!! ((I feel silly having to mention this!)) My characters always have animalistic traits, it’s just who they are! Anyhow, I really hope you liked this chapter and I feel that it’s honestly better written than the one before it so PLEASE: Read, Rate, and Review!]
