Chapter 9: Family Drama

“Saya.” Someone said, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into a janitors closet. She yelped in surprise, but reacted quickly, curling her hand into a fist and bringing it around to meet the stranger. He responded quickly, grabbing her wrist mid-swing and pinning it against the wall.

“Shh,” He said covering her mouth with her hand and stepping out of the shadows. Saya’s eyes widened in surprised and she breathed out a sigh of relief.

“Oh my God, what’s wrong with you! You nearly gave me a heart attack! I was about to clobber you!” She hissed angrily. Logan grinned roguishly at her and laughed.

“As if you could.” He said. Saya scowled, squaring her shoulders.

“Wanna bet?”

“I’d love to.” He said, pressing her against the door and nuzzling her neck. Saya shivered and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before speaking again.

“Is there a reason you pulled me in here or where you just looking for a bit of a thrill?” She asked.

“Just looking for a thrill.” He said smugly.

“Well then,” Saya said rolling her eyes and shoving him away lightly, straightening her jacket. “Next time you go looking for a thrill have the decency to pull me into an empty classroom won’t you? As much as I love the idea of heated kisses behind closed doors a janitors closet hardly strikes me as romantic or, for that matter, sexy. Your desk however ...”

Logan groaned and pulled her to him kissing her hard on the mouth to silence her. She relaxed, leaning into the kiss and he smirked. For such a feisty woman she sure could be complacent sometimes.

“Look Babe,” Logan said pulling away from her and holding her at arms length. “I need to talk to you. Can I stop by your place around 10?”

“Since when do you need to ask?” Saya said smirking at him and tilting her head to the side. Logan grinned at her and gave her one last kiss before slipping out the door and motioning to Saya that the coast was clear.

Neither of them noticed the security camera at the end of the hall pointed right at them.

...

It was a little before 10 when Logan’s car pulled up in front of Saya’s house an he instantly knew that something was wrong. He got out of his car quickly and found the door kicked in, hanging loosely by its hinges as if it fall off at any moment.

He looked down the hall and inhaled sharply, there was broken glass everywhere. All of the pictures were shattered and there were bullet holes in the wall. What was going on?

“Sy?” He called, walking down the hall.

He was met with nothing but a rumbling growl.

“Saya, Baby, what happened?” He asked.

She was standing rigidly in the middle of the living room.  Blood  was smeared across the walls, bullet casing covered the floor, shredded paper from books caught in the crossfires floating down from the ceiling. What happened here?

She turned her head towards him slowly, her eyes black and pitiless. She didn’t say a word though, merely turned back to the man in front of her, her shoulders back, her hair bristled, her body tensed. She looked like a dog posturing before a fight.

Logan looked up at the man Saya was staring down and inhaled sharply ... father?

“A friend of yours?” The man asked, nodding towards Logan.

“A mutual acquaintance actually.” She said quietly.

“Oh really,” He asked. “I thought your family was dead?”

Saya smirked sadistically at him,  her eyes flashing mirthlessly.

“Yours isn’t.” She said. The man’s eyes widened and he turned quickly to look at Logan.

Seeing her chance Saya leapt at the man and drew back her fist, but the man sensed the attack. Reacting quickly he turned around and grabbed her wrist,  tossing her easily to the side as a look of horror crossed her face. There was a sickening cracking sound as her body hit the glass door that lead outside sending glass shards everywhere.

“SAYA!” Logan yelled, taking a step forward.

“Stay out of this.” His father said walking towards the deck.

“Like hell I will!” Logan growled taking a step towards his father.

“No.” Saya said, breathing heavily and staggering to her feet. She was bleeding badly, her left arm hanging limply at her side as blood streamed down it. One of her eyes was closed, a deep gash running through it and glass was sticking out of her arms, shoulders, and back. How was she still standing?

“This,” She breathed out heavily, shuttering. “Is my fight.”

The man smirked and took a step towards her.

“You should have let him fight for you. You would have lived longer.” He said raising a scoped pistol, its red laser falling directly between her eyes.

“I’m not dead yet.” She growled and leapt forward again.

There was a ‘bang’ as he pulled the trigger and the bullet left the barrel but she dodged left and bolted forward. Her right knee connected with the man’s jaw, knocking him backwards and rendering him unconscious. She landed clumsily on her feet, sliding across the slick floor made slippery by blood and crashed into Logan.

He reacted quickly, wrapping his arms around her to keep her from falling and being careful of the glass still embedded in her.

“Saya?” He asked tentatively. She looked up at him and smiled.

“Ya know,” She said, trying to laugh but coughing up blood instead. “we have some pretty fucked up lives.”

[A/N: Oooh! Plot Twist! I bet you all didn’t see that coming! Heh, so the second genre, Action, finally came into play and I’m dying to know what you all think! I was actually planning to split this chapter into 2 parts but I'm really not fond of cliffhangers as a whole so I decided to spare you all the drama of waiting lol. So Read, Rate, and Review!]
