Right after you said it you could feel the heat rising to your face.

Did you really just say that?

Heimdall just chuckled as you face continued to get redder and redder.

As you both started to get further and further away from the palace and the city you could feel how calm it was. There were birds chirping and the occasional farm kid would walk out onto the road to see who was coming or to pick flowers.

It was peaceful and quiet, like it was just you, Heimdall, and the sound of nature around you. After walking for a ways you both came to a stop. It was a pretty meadow with a small herd of horses grazing on it. They looked up at you but then just went right back to eating.

"These horses are nothing like the wild horses I used to see all the time." You stated as you got off of the light grey gelding and Heimdall got off of the bark bay.

It was quiet for a while as you walked over to the chestnut rabicano stallion. He stood tall but relaxed and tired. The race must have really worn him out.

You then reached up and unclasped the halter and slipped it off of him. He stood there for a second before looking over at the other horses. He then looked back down at you and started to reach his nose out to you. You held up your hand and placed it on his nose. You both didn't move for a moment.

"Goodbye, old friend, I hope to see you again one day." You said to the horse, you knew who it was, it was Yukon. It was all apart of this immortality thing, when you needed help, your old friends would help you find your way.

Then he took a step back making your hand disconnect from his nose. You lowered your hand as he slowly trotted off towards the herd.

You could have swore that the goodbye between you and that horse was like a weight had been lifted from your shoulders. It was like your life was happening all over again and if it was, then whatever happened after this was going to good or bad. Only time will tell, you didn't want to lose what you have know though, you have finally started to learn to let go and let people in.

The more you thought about it the more memories started to flood your mind. The good and the bad. You would not want to inflict anyone around you with what happened in your past life. Not even the people who have wronged you.

You took a step back before turning around to face Heimdall. Your face wasn't sad like he had thought, but you had a smile. Even though all the memories flashed in horrible visions, they taught you that you needed to get out of your head and into the real world.

"Are you okay?" He asked you.

"Yea, we better be headed back then." You said grabbing his hand.

"Or, we can stay for a little bit." He suggested before pulling you back to his body. He had a hand on your waist keeping you there and pulling you closer.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there when you woke up, I had some business I had to attend to." He said leaning down to you. You decided to close the gap and kiss him, and he didn't mind that at all.

You both probably made out like that for a good five minutes before you broke apart to look at each other. Not knowing what to do next you just kind of pecked his lips and let go of his arms. He let go of your waist and took your hand as you both walked back to the horses. It was a strange experience but it felt right.

After walking back towards the city you could see that the streets were filling up with people, everyone singing and dancing, and having a good time. You had never seen a festival like it though it reminded you of the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro only with a lot of people running around scaring each other in scary masks, drunk men walking around, and the others sang and danced.
