chapter 2

Karies my adoptive mother and her husband David is my adoptive father.They aren't the first adoptive parents that i've had.Ever since I was 7 I've been moving from house to house With different families.I've never actually had a home.A home where I can come to everyday and be happy.There has always been a problem with each family.

Wether I didn't get along with some of the other siblings,they were tired of having me there or I was just too old and they didn't want me anymore.

Im 17 years old and I would be an adult in one more year.I finally want to stop living with different families where i am unwanted and start to live on my own.

Tony and alex are both 8.Alex is adopted as well.

His parents couldn't take care of him so they gave him up for adoption.This is his second family now.

Sam is 14 about to be 15.He doesn't like me at all obviously.He doesn't like the idea of having step siblings.

Nancy is my age.I really don't get along with her.Shes the spoiled one of the house.She gets whatever she wants,She thinks that shes all that and spends her time flirting with boys and talking about who knows what everyday with her little bitchy group.I call them bitchy because they judge and gossip about every girl that they don't necessarily ‘like’.

I grabbed my bag from the chair and walked out the door.I could get a ride with Karie but Nancy would be in the car as well.Nancy and I go to the same school but I’d rather walk.The school was only a few blocks away anyway.We have like one more week of school left.I go to “Ralmster high”Home of the eagles.

I was walking down the hall heading to my locker.

”Hey!”Jany said smiling.”Hey”I say with a smile.

Janys one of the few friend I have.I met her here and we clicked right away.Shes really pretty.She has brown eyes and light brown long straight hair.

I look to the side and see Stephanie coming.”Hey guys”She said with her happily warm smile.

I met stephanie after Jany and right after introducing her to Jany the three of us have been inseparable since.

Stephanie has long curly black hair and light brown eyes.

Before I can say anything Janys jerk boyfriend comes over and picks her up.Me and Stephanie roll our eyes.

“Jake!Put me down!”Jany screams smiling and laughing.I close my locker door.”Jany,Well catch up with you at lunch”I say walking away with Stephanie.

“Hes such a dogue”Stephanie sais.

“I know.But she wont listen!”I say trying not to scream.

The bell rings and I drop Stephanie off at her first class.I feel really annoyed right now having to go to boring history.

The bell rings and I was heading to go and get lunch.I was walking down the hall and I see Jake.I roll my eyes and just keep walking past him.Then I feel someone grab my hand and I turn around.”Jake!Fucking let me go!”I say.”Come on Jessi,Jany doesn't need to know”He said smiling widely at me and pulling me close to him.I pushed him away.”You're such an asshole!You dont deserve her!”I tell him walking in the other direction.

I find Stephanie along the way but I don't tell her what just happened.We find Jany and sit with her.”Hey guys,im sorry but im gonna go sit with Jake”She said after a while”.”Jany,He doesn't deserve you..hes just playing around with you”I tell her for the hundredth time.She just rolls her eyes and stands up.We sit there watching her go over to his table.

I look at him in discuss.Hes just a player that is playing with her feelings.He checks out every girl and has probably even cheated on Jany a thousand times.Hes in the football team and every girl wishes to be with him.But they're all obviously blind.

I hear laughing behind us.I turn around and see Nancy with her bitchy group laughing at a girl that dropped her lunch.I turned to look at Stephanie and she also shook her head in disapproval.We stood up and helped the poor girl.”Hey Nancy isn't that your step sister?”A guy says from the group.Nancy rolls her eyes.

“Dont listen to them.They're just little bitches that dont have anything better to do”I tell her.”Thanks”She sais giving us a light smile.

After lunch we head to our next class.Mine was math.great.

I sat down in my seat and the teacher started up with his boring long lesson.

Half way through it He got interrupted by the phone.

He hangs up.”Jessica?They want you in the office”He sais making me look up.

Me?Why?Did I do something wrong?They’ve never called me before?

When he sais this everyone's full attention was on me.I raised my eyebrow at them standing up and getting my bag.Gosh people.Haven't you ever seen a human get called to the office before?

I walk out of the class and start to head to the office.

On the way there I was wondering what could be the purpose as to why they called me.

I walk into the office and see Karie.”Jessi”She sais with a smile.”You're going home”the secretary sais.I give her a weird look and follow Karie out to the parking lot.

I get in the car and she starts to drive.We stay in silence.I wanted to ask her why she picked me up from school early.Im not complaining tho.

”We’ll explain at home”Is all she said like she could read my mind.

We pull up to the driveway and I see another car that I didn't recognize parked outside of the house.

I get out of the car and we walk inside.I follow behind her into the living room.

I see David and another man sitting on the couch.He didn't look that old.probably in his early thirties.

He smiles and stands up.

“Jessica”He sais coming over to me.Then he hugs me.

“umm..who are you?”I say awkwardly.

“Jessi,come and sit.We need to talk”David sais.

I give him a weird look and sit down.

“Me and Karie have been thinking and I don't think that it would be good for you to keep staying here.We have many kids already and you're too old already to be with an adoptive family.”
