chapter 3

I stay quiet for a moment.

“So..where will I go?”I ask.

“Well Jessica,I'm Anthony.”The strange guy that hugged me earlier said.”I'm your mothers brother”He sais leaving me breathless.

“What?”I say almost whispering.

“Jessica,im your uncle.And I want you to come and live with me.You can’t stay here anyways.So you’ll come to live with me to my house.”He sais.

I couldn't speak.

Hes my uncle?I don't remember meeting him when I was little?How did he find me?What?!

I was speechless.I look at Karie.”Its for the best Jessi.Im sorry”She tells me.

“When?”I managed to speak out.

“..this weekend..”He explains.

I had so many questions.

Where did he live,why is he bearly wanting me to come live with him now when I needed family to comfort me 10 years ago?

I couldn't get anything out.

“Jessi?”David sais.

“Yea?”I say.”I know this is many things happening all at once but it’ll be ok.I've gotta go and arrange everything in my house for you to come over.i’ll come by on the weekend to pick you up”Anthony sais.He walks out with David opening the door for him.”Are you ok?”Karie asks me.”Yea..I understand”I tell her honestly.

The next day I woke up and got ready.Its tuesday.This is the last week that I’ll get to see my friends.Thats the only reason why I was sad.I honestly wont miss this family except for Karie,Tony,and Alex.David was always at work so I never got to spend time with him.I don't know why I'm nervous about this.I've moved many times before but somehow I felt like this one was going to be different.

"What!?"Stephanie almost screams."yea.apparently now he comes and looks for me after ten years and finally wants me to go and live with him.."

"We're going to miss you"Jany said hugging me.

"Can't you just stay with your adoptive family?" Stephanie questions.

"I can't.apparently I'm too old to be their adoptive daughter and they have too many kids already.."I tell them.

"That's a pretty fucked up reason"Jany said rolling her eyes."that's a shity reason actually"Stephanie comments.

“Atleast you won't live with Nancy”Jany sais making me smile.

Then the stupid bell rings.

I walk out of class and head to meet the girls for lunch.

"Hey girls"I say making my way over to them in line.”Hey”They respond.

We were Waiting in line when I noticed Nancy and her group where a couple of feet away from us in line.

I decided that I wouldn’t look over there and I was trying to focus on just me and my friends since it would be the last week that I would get to be with them in school.

From the corner of my eye I saw Nancy coming down the line with her group after getting her lunch.I paid no attention to her and tried to focus again to what Stephanie was telling us.

Then I feel someone bump my shoulder hard making me almost fall.I turn around fast.”What the fuck is your problem Nancy?!”I shout at her angrily.

”I'm glad that you're leaving,I mean it wouldn't make a difference because you're nobody”She sais grinning.I just roll my eyes.”Yea you know what?Im glad too because that means that I won't have to live with you anymore”I say back.

”At Least people want to live with me”She sais.”I may be adopted but atleast they chose me,while with you they HAVE to put up with you”I say exaggerating the word “Have”.

Nancy turned red and didn’t say anything back so I just grinned and felt proud.It might be mean but not compared to everything that shes done to me.

“Oh yea?..then why are they getting rid of you this weekend?”She sais with a laugh.

Thats it.I didn't care if I get suspended.I was leaving anyways.Shes such a bitch.She knows everyone just heard that and she feels proud.I don't know what came over me.I blinked and suddenly im punching her in the face.

I pinned her to the ground and I was ontop of her.I could hear everyone around us.She was trying to swing back and she got a couple of hits on to me but I kept punching her back.Then I felt someone grab me from behind and separated us.

It was security and they were taking us into the office.They made us sit in chairs really far from each other.They gave Nancy an Ice pack to put on her now new black eye.

I didnt even glance at her.It was really quiet.You could just hear the noise of the tiny fridge they have in the office.

A while later the door opens.

Karie walks in looking really angry.

“What happened!”She shouts at us.

She walks into the principles main office and they close the door behind them so we couldn't hear.

After what seems like forever Karie walks out.She doesn't give us the best look.Somehow we knew that she was telling us to follow her out so me and Nancy walked out  behind her.

We got into the car.Me getting stuck in the back because the princes always has to be in the front.

We just sat there quiet still parked in the parking lot

until Karie finally spoke.

“..you're both suspended for two days.And you're grounded for a month.Both of you.

but since Jessi your leaving this weekend you're grounded until you leave.I have no other choice.I really don't enjoy spending the last days with you being grounded.And also the principle explained to me that before you leave this weekend,She'll give you your diploma since you won't be able to to go to the actual ceremony.”She sais.

Im not enjoying it either.Atleast my punishment won't be for long.I really don't mind not going to the graduation ceremony.What for?

“Mom thats not fair!Look at my eye!This is all her fault.I shouldn't be the one grounded its her!”Nancy spats.

”Nancy thats enough!Yes she gave you a black eye but look at her lip!Both of you deserve this.You'll be grounded for a week after Jessi leaves because it isn't fair for you since she's leaving.I was on an important interview and had to make my way over here because you guys can't keep it together!!”Karie shouts really mad.

We didn’t make a sound.The whole drive we were quiet.I was surprised as to how mad Karie was.She gets mad all the time at Alex and Tony but not this mad.

On friday day Karie woke me up early to start and pack my stuff.I spent the whole day with my girls yesterday and said our goodbyes.But we promised each other it wouldn’t be goodbye forever.

We weren’t sure if my “Uncle” was going to come pick me up tommorow or sunday.So here I am packing my stuff into my suitcase.I couldnt wait to leave.but at the same time I dont want to.I know.Its hard to believe.Why would I miss it?

I just don't know what to expect.What if he has a wife?Or kids.If we don't get along is he just going to leave me like everyone else does?
