"Can you please just sign this so I can go back to learning my lines upstairs?"

Abby's POV

Tuesday flies by, the day packed with rehearsals and some technical stuff. I don't have many scenes for the episodes we're shooting right now, so most of my day was spent in my trailer trying to catch up on my school work. Just as I'm putting my airpods in to watch a video for history, I hear a knock at my trailer door.

"Come in!" I yell, confused as to who would need me right now.

"Hi!" Danielle's bubbly voice fills my trailer as she walks in and I smile. "I just wanted to come check in, I haven't seen you around much today and wanted to make sure you're settling in alright."

"Hi, thank you." I smile "I'm okay, just working on some school stuff right now."

"When are you done for the day?" she asks me.

"Oh...um, I actually finished about an hour ago."

"Oh? Then why are you still here? Your mom couldn't come get you yet?"

"Well..." I chuckle slightly, raising my eyebrows. "I actually take the bus here and back everyday." I explain. "But I don't know, I just didn't really feel like going home yet."

Danielle looks at me with concern in her eyes.

"I'm okay, really." I try to convince her. "It's just easier to focus here."

"Okay...well I'll leave you to it. You'll come find me if you need anything?"

"Yes, I will thank you."

"Good. I'll see you either later today or tomorrow?" she asks.

"I'm actually not needed tomorrow." I say regretfully. I really don't want to spend the day at my house. "I'll be here Thursday though."

"Alright, bye Abby." Danielle smiles before leaving my trailer and closing the door behind her.

Another couple of hours go by before I decide I should probably head home before Danielle sees me still here. It's weird having someone so concerned about me, but I like it. I haven't had that in a long time.

As I begin walking out of the trailer park, Stefania sees me and begins walking over to me.

"Hi Abby! I'm Stefania, we met briefly yesterday."

"Yes, I remember!" I smile at her. She seemed very friendly with Danielle. "How are you?"

"I'm good, you? Danielle mentioned that you were hard at work doing school earlier." She smiles when she says Danielle's name.

"Yeah," I chuckle a little. "I have a lot to catch up on. But I'm good, really enjoying getting to know everyone here."

"Si, we have a very welcoming cast here. I hope they're all treating you well, we've never had someone as young as you play such a big role before."

"Yeah, everyone is amazing." I smile. "Especially Danielle, she's made me feel really comfortable so far. I'm glad I met her first yesterday."

"Yeah, Danielle's pretty amazing." she winks at me and I laugh softly. "Okay, well I'll let you go. Hopefully I'll see you around sometime soon." She smiles and begins to walk away. "Bye Abby! Have a good night."

"You too!"

...

Wednesday flies by as well, thankfully. I woke up late, taking advantage of not having to be up early. Most of my day was spent doing school work again, and avoiding having to go downstairs and seeing my mom or Rob, and reading over my lines. I try to go to sleep early because I know I have to be up early tomorrow, but my mom and Rob started drinking, and when the drinking starts, their volume gets incredibly loud, even when it's just the two of them, but I eventually end up falling asleep for a short period of time.

...

My mom and Rob got into an intense argument late at night last night, and I only slept for a couple of hours total because of it. I don't know what it was about, but the stern talking soon turned into yells and screams, which then escalated into doors being slammed and dishes being smashed at around 2 a.m., and then I was too anxious to fall asleep, not knowing if Rob would decide to take any of his anger out on me, too.

It's now Thursday morning and I force myself to stay awake on the bus as to not miss my stop, and immediately head straight to my trailer once I finally make it onto set. I don't need hair or makeup today as it's only a rehearsal day. It's 7:15 a.m. right now, but I technically don't need to be anywhere until 8:30. I just wanted to get out of the house without having to interact with anyone.

Just before I reach out to open my trailer door, I hear my name being called.

"Abby!" I turn and smile, seeing Danielle jogging to me.

"Hi," I say shyly.

"What are you doing here so early?" She questions once she finally makes it to where I'm standing.

"Oh, um...I just kinda needed to get out of my house." I say, unsure if I should have revealed that. "Come in?" I ask, opening the door of my trailer.

Danielle's POV

I walk into Abby's trailer and watch her put her things onto the counter before taking a seat on the couch. Her comment about needing to get away from her house concerns me.

"What about you? Why are you here so early?"

"Don't try to change the subject Abby, is everything okay?" I sit down next to her.

"Why wouldn't it be?"

I just tilt my head and look at her with wide eyes. "Why did you need to get out of your house?"

She sighs deeply. "I just...it's a lot, I don't know."

"You can talk to me." I put my hand on her thigh. "I know we just met, but like I said, I want to be someone you can come to if you need anything."

"Thank you." she smiles weakly at me, and I can tell she doesn't want to talk right now. I don't press her anymore because the last thing I want to do is push her away because I can tell she needs someone. "But seriously, why are you here early?" she smiles more genuinely this time.

"Oh, umm..." I smile, looking down at the ground. "Remember Stefania from the other day?"

"Mhm, I ran into her on Tuesday actually."

"Well, she's on the Grey's Anatomy set all week so I came here early so I could see her for a little while."

"You two seem really close."

"Yeah," my smile grows larger. "She's, uh..." I look up and Abby is smiling at me with her eyebrows raised. "What?"

"Do you like her? Like, like like her?" she asks bluntly, still smiling.

"Wh-I... I mean, no I jus-" I completely stumble over my words and Abby just laughs.

"You so like her,"

"It's complicated," I admit. Normally I immediately dismiss anyone who says something like this, I don't know why I'm being so open with Abby who I just met a few days ago. But the two of us really seem to have a good connection and I'm thankful for that, for her sake. I'm just glad that she seems to be more comfortable with me now.

"Oh, come on" she begins. "I see the way you two look at each other. I thought you were dating when I first saw you guys on Monday. And the way you talk about each other? She definitely likes you too." I stick my tongue in my cheek to try to hide my smile a little.

"I forgot you're a teenager, you practically speak this language." I laugh, trying to change the subject a little.

"Yeah, well I haven't had much luck in that area of life." she chuckles.

"Oh, please," I swat at her arm. "You're too young to be worrying about that." she just shrugs her shoulders. She seems to be opening up a little more to me, and is more comfortable which I'm thankful for. Maybe she'll start actually talking to me soon because I know there's something up that's really affecting her.

"Come on, let's go see if we can find Barrett or Grey or anyone. Maybe getting out of here will take your mind off of whatever it is that's bothering you."
