Chapter 30: Hyung

Soonyoung looked at Woozi with wide eyes and an embarrassed face.

S: Hyung? Does it look like that ? Tell me honestly, do you think I like Mingyu? Why would you suddenly say that?

W: Don't ask me. I don't want to answer that. How irritating.

S: Hyunnnggg! Tell meee ! I'll do a cutesy dance for ya ! Should I do it here ? You have to tell me I've been going crazy about this!!! Pleaseee
He held onto Woozi's sleeve and batted his eyes at him in hopes of getting an answer.

W: Don't give me your puppy dog eyes it doesn't work on me. (Looking away)

S: Aahh Hyung ! Who am I supposed to get help from. You're the closest to me even among my friends. You know I love and respect you so much!! Please help meee!!

W: So that's how I get my ILY from you. Hahaha. ( pushing back his hair trying to not show Soonyoung how hurt he was)

W: (looking at a pouty faced soonyoung and giving in with a sigh) I don't know okay? It's just you've always been mentioning him a lot while you're smiling like a jerk. You're always like, I was out with Mingyu here today. I did this with Gyu today. We ate this and that and god knows what. And since yesterday it just looks like you're missing him. You stop yourself from talking about him midway and then get lost in thought. I don't know what happened between you two but if you ask me another question about this or ask me to help you I'll definitely hit you.

Soonyoung just said oh and then hugged Woozi. He had always been thinking about their future but listening to Woozi made him realise how he had always been inclined towards Mingyu. He knew he always went out of his way to meet Mingyu between classes and even bunked some of them to hang out with him. He had unknowingly done it all.

S: Thanks hyung. I really do like you a lot. You're the best.

Woozi was shocked. He was secretly waiting for Soonyoung to say those things to him but now that it was happening and the context made him feel empty inside.
He went home that day with a heavy heart and a few cans of beers as he sat and drank away his hurt.
W: Fine let's be a good hyung to him atleast.
He spoke out loud in his empty room as a tear sped down his cheek.

Soonyoung laid down on his bed after washing up. Yet another day had passed in a flurry and the day to answer Gyu came nearer. He almost knew the answer. He knew what had to be done and yet he was anxious. It had been long since he had been in a relationship. Almost an year now. Will it be alright? He thought as he closed his eyes.
