Chapter 3 The Club President

As Soonyoung entered the theatre his heart started to beat a lot faster, out of excitement. Seeing such a huge stage made him so happy he could start dancing the moment he saw the stage. He has always had an obsession with stages. He liked to be in the spotlight. Soonyoung started walking towards the stage automatically unaware of other people around him. As he reached nearer to the stage he started hearing people talk in the background but his eyes never left the spotlight that was shining on the empty stage.
Before he knew he had climbed the steps of the stage and was heading to the area in spotlight when someone placed a hand on his shoulder and stopped him.
" Are you Kim Mingyu ?" the person asked.
"Hmm?" Soonyoung turned around wanting to ask what the person said, taking his eyes off the spotlight.
"That's great, we were waiting for you. Here's the mic, all the best." the well built guy said as he placed the mic in Soonyoung's hand and pushed him lightly towards the spotlight.

A confused Soonyoung finally looked around to find out what was going around. Apparently he was mistaken as a candidate for today's audition and was now supposed to audition. What shocked him more was three people sitting in front of the stage looking keenly at him, one of which was none other than the cute guy he saw in the morning.
He's the President of the club ?Soonyoung couldn't believe it. He hesitantly walked to the spotlighted space and smiled a little.

"I hope you know the drill, introduce yourself, show your talent and go" the short guy who looked like he didn't recognise Soonyoung at all, spoke in the same cold way he spoke in the morning.
" But first tell me why does your picture look different from you Mingyusshi" he spoke again looking at a sheet of paper.

" That's because I'm not Mingyu. I'm Kwon Soonyoung and I got mistaken as Mingyu. I actually did want to audition though." He added the second line quietly.
"We do things in a very systematic order Soonyoungsshi. We have a proper audition form and music selection bank for students so that a composed audition can be held. You can't just come up on stage and give an audition." the Vice President spoke. He almost looked the same age as Soonyoung if not younger but he had a strict tone to his voice.
" Oh I'm really sorry, I'll come again next time then " Soonyoung bowed and started to walk out of the light when the third person on the judge panel the Art director sopke up, " But since Mingyusshi isn't here and you already are you can audition this once. Start with an Intro".

Soonyoungs confidence rose a little bit at the directors words. He looked up and saw his friends doing weird dancing in the back seats to support him. He smiled at them then started speaking," My name is Kwon Soonyoung and I want to audition for the dance team"
"Why do you specifically want to get in that particular team ?" the art director guy asked him with a bit of a smile.
"It's because the stage is beautiful and I can make it more beautiful by performing on it, I really love to dance" Soonyoung eagerly replied with an excited tone.

"We don't have your name on the list so will it be alright if you have to perform on the spot?" The Vice President said a little concerned.
" Oh yes hit me up with music and I'm good to go" reassured Soonyoung.

A few seconds later a familiar song started to buzz from the speakers. Soonyoung closed his eyes and took a deep breath and then he started to dance.

Within seconds all eyes in the theatre turned to the Soonyoung as he danced to his hearts content. No one could take their eyes off him. Everyone stopped doing what they were doing and watched Soonyoung dance in awe. He was a completely different person when he was dancing. His postures and lines in beautiful angles aligned to form perfect harmony with the music. You could see his eyes sparkling and filled with confidence. There was an audible sigh from the audience when the music stopped.
Soonyoung bowed once he was done feeling good about the dance he just performed. He could see the judges surprised looking at him.
"Alright, you can submit the form by tomorrow and we'll call you back if you're selected" the Vice President spoke clearing his voice a little.
Soonyoung smiled and got off the stage.
"Oh my god, how did you even? "a very surprised boo came up to Soonyoung and dragged him to the back seats. Soonyoung just smiled and let Boo be amazed. Boo liked to talk a lot.
"That was freaking amazing ! I'm your fan and I got you the form to fill" Dk chirped while Boo was catching up his breath.

Soonyoung thanked his friends for the compliments and filled out the form. They had to run back to class so Soonyoung decided to submit it after his classes in the second half.
