Chapter 15: The duet.

W: soonyoungaah! Can we talk?

H: I don't have anything to talk to you about. (Moving away)

W: (grabbing soonyoung's bag to stop him) Please listen to me. I need to tell you something.

H: I don't know what you want or who you are but I would like you to let me off.
Before Wonwoo could speak another word Mingyu appeared on the door and gave him a look.

M: You don't listen do you? (Eyeing Wonwoo and then turning towards Hoshi) Come on Hoshi ! Let's go! I heard there's some important announcement today.

H: Oh really ? I'm excited let's go.
Hoshi smiled at Mingyu thankful for his timely entry. As they both skipped away Wonwoo watched them and followed them to the club. What's a Hoshi? And why does this Mingyu guy keep following Soonyoung? He thought to himself.

A club meeting was being held when Mingyu and hoshi reached and so they silently took the seats at the back with DK and Boo.
Coups: Looks like everyone's here now. We have a few important announcements to make regarding the upcoming festival.
I'll let Minghao explain the details. If anyone has any sort of questions feel free to ask.

H: (whispering to DK and Mingyu) this sounds exciting!!! I'll finally be able to dance on stage!! Oh wait there will be dance right ?

M: You don't even know about the festival yet you're excited about dancing ? I should just call you stupid and not Hoshi.

Dk: stupid sounds good for Soonyoung but what's a Hoshi ?

H: It means tigers gaze! I'm a tiger (giggling on his silliness)

Dk: but you are like a hamster

H: A what? Do you want to die? I'm a tiger!!!!

M: you do remind me of a hamster though. You eat like one.

H: Are you kidding me? (Poker pouty face) I'm a tiger also shut up and listen to what Minghao hyung is saying. I don't wanna miss any details.
Minghao was on the stage now holding a few pages in his hand. Soonyoung felt someone staring and his eyes dropped to a small head barely visible over the rows of people. Woozi was looking straight in his direction and the gaze made Soonyoung feel chills throughout his body. He decided to talk and apologise to Woozi once the meeting ended.

Minghao: (clearing his throat) A lot of you know about the festival but I'll go over the information for the freshers. This year the theme is Eloquence and the fest is set to be for 3 days.
Our club is required to fill in a few time slots on all three days and every performance is extremely important to the fest.
We've decided to divide performances for all three days into 5 performing groups.
A duet
A group dance
A theatrical play
Opening ceremony
Closing ceremony.
Coups will pass on schedules and details for all the performances so pass it on and give in your names accordingly. We hope to receive maximum participation from everyone in the club. That's all for now.

Coups: (passing the detail sheets and climbing on the stage) Aaaaahh ! I think Minghao covered most of it but I'll add that you'll see certain spots are already fixed in the detail sheet that's what we decided for the leaders and that's how the performances will be managed.
This is your chance to work with the leaders and learn the most. You can take today's club time to think about it and fill in your names by the end of the day. You all can go now !!

Booseoksoon had their eyes glued at the detailed list of the festival. Conversations arose about what they should participate in. Seokmin was very interested in the duet but when he saw that Woozi was assigned to manage the duet he gave up.
Dk: that reminds me, Soon you had to talk to hyung after the meeting..

Woozi: Which hyung?
Everyone turned around their heads in unison to look at their short hyung who had walked over to where they were sitting.

Dk: ohhh aaah ! Well...

Woozi: Don't stutter speak properly.

Dk: I'm sorry. Soonyoung said he wanted to talk to you about the duet.
His comment made everyone's attention turn to Soonyoung who himself was awestruck at what Seokmin had said.

Woozi: Well then follow me.
Woozi walked off the moment he said those words.
As soon as he turned Soonyoung jumped up to strangle DK.
H: Lee Seokmin are you crazy ? What were you thinking? You're the one who told me he's pissed at me and yet you blurted out nonsense!!!!!!! What do I do now. I'm going to die. (Panicking while still strangling DK)

Dk: aaaaah I panicked okay?? I'm sorry.... Please forgive me.

Boo: but it's a good opportunity for you Soon.
Soonyoung stopped strangling DK as Boo spoke again and DK gasped for air.

Boo: You see he's angry at you. This way you'll get to talk to him and make up with him. No one dares to do the duet with him so this might actually be a good chance for you to bond with him. You were the one who wanted to get to know him more weren't you?? (Looking at Soon)

Mingyu had been quietly observing but the topic of Soonyoung doing a duo with Woozi grasped his attention. There was something inside him that didn't like the idea of Hoshi with Woozi.
Mingyu: But it might backfire too. What if he takes it the wrong way and thinks you're using this opportunity just to apologise for what you did earlier?? (Hoping what he said made sense to a deep thoughts Hoshi)

H: I guess we'll have to see. I'll go talk to him first before he kills me for not following him. I'll text y'all if it takes time. See ya!!

Dk: I'll pray for your well being Soon!!

The group of friends looked at Soonyoung with worried eyes as he made his way to the front and after woozi. Mingyu felt very anxious for some reason. He knew he didn't have any rights over Soonyoung but he didn't want him to go to Woozi.

He watched till Soonyoung was out of sight then picked up his stuff and turned to leave when he spotted Wonwoo by the door looking at him. He walked over to him.
M: and what might you be looking at??

Won: What's your relationship with Soonyoung?

M: Why should I tell you that?

Won: You seem interested in him since you like to separate him and me a lot.

M: My interests are none of your business new kid. Go find other people to bother leave Hoshi alone.

Won: Again with the nicknames? You aren't even a close friend to him since you don't know who I am. Why do you give him silly nicknames?

M: Ohh but I do know you.(smirk) You're the jerk who keeps bothering him.

Won: You basically know nothing so don't stop me from talking to him. I need him to listen to me.

M: that ain't happening because from what I know you're a jerk and I can't allow jerks around my friend.

Won: You don't even know him so stop pretending like you do. I'm warning you for the last time.

M: You say like you know him better?

Won: Oh darling I've known him from when he didn't even know how to count. So you better shut up.
Mingyu was taken aback! He stood there a little out of words before he stared at Wonwoo and left. He felt hurt over the fact that an asshole like Wonwoo knew more about Soonyoung than him. He was hurt about the fact that Hoshi didn't tell him about Wonwoo being his friend.
