Christmas morning, just a day after the ball held in the Malfoy Manor, found Jane woken up way earlier than she would have liked, by none other than Antonio. It wasn't like he had any wish to be gentle, either. Instead, she woke up to the door slamming open.

"Get up!"

Jane was a morning person, of course, and she usually woke up earlier than the rest of the school to go on a run or just because she liked the silence of the morning. For whatever reason, she had decided to sleep in this morning. Evidently, that plan couldn't become true.

"Why do you have to be like that," she grumbled, eyes still closed.

Antonio took a moment to grin at her puffy cheeks before he thought of a way to make her suffer and wake up. His first idea was to drag her covers off of her – he quickly abandoned it when he realised Cleopatra was resting on the edge of the bed and he didn't want to bother her. His second idea was to start bouncing on the bed – it was abandoned for the same reason as before. His third idea, though – the boy smirked as he moved to the window and without a hint of regret opened it wide, letting light get in the room and fall right on Jane's figure on the bed. She whined.

"Come on, it's time to open our gifts!"

"The gifts aren't going anywhere," she grumbled, "you can see them later."

"Oh, leave the bed already, I know you won't be able to get back to sleep."

Jane slowly opened her eyes with a small frown, the tone of her voice low and sleepy. "You are mean."

Antonio laughed, lips stretching into a wide smile as he reached for one of her hands beneath the pillow and gently pulled. Jane had no choice but to give in and slowly let him pull her up. She didn't have the chance to do anything—change, brush her hair or her teeth, wash her face—before Antonio was dragging her out of the room.

"I haven't had someone to bother in Christmas since a couple of years ago I stayed with Scorpius! Today is going to be great!"

Despite her annoyance at having being woken up and her sleepy state, Jane couldn't help but soften slightly as she looked at the boy. She told him nothing of her slight change of heart, though. She only let him move her around a bit easier than before after that.

Blaise and Diana were already awake, having their breakfast when Jane and Antonio entered. Antonio was a ball of energy as he beamed up at his parents while Jane could only smile softly and raise the hand Antonio hadn't claimed as his own in a greeting. Blaise and Diana shared a look before he ushered his children to the table.

"Come, sit down."

"Good morning," Jane murmured as she sat in the spare seat in between Blaise and Antonio.

"I take it he woke you up?" Blaise chuckled as he watched Jane slowly start helping herself to some coffee.

"Yeah," she croaked, "he opened the windows."

Blaise chuckled as Antonio pulled Jane's attention back on him. Diana watched on in silence as Antonio started describing a dream he had the previous night in great detail, while Blaise leaned back and observed the scene.

Antonio and Jane fit with each other, had fun in each other's company. They loved each other and it showed as clear as day. He had never thought he would want someone else in his family until Jane arrived and he realised having her around was completing things. Antonio seemed more lively with her around. Blaise couldn't help but smile at the image his family painted.

Diana, ever observant when it came to her husband, reached over and placed a hand over his own. She squeezed it gently, sent him a small smile over the rim of her coffee cup before she took a sip and turned her attention back on the children. Blaise squeezed her hand back.
