The three of you ended up just grabbing some fast food as per Bokuto's request. It was preferable though because now you could stay out in the beautiful weather while sitting on a bench with them.
The meal itself was mostly quiet other than the usual banter and laughs, but it seemed like all three of you were weighed down a little bit more than usual. It was eating at you, but you just finished your food and moved to rest your head on Bokuto's chest as you looked up at the beautiful lights.
Bokuto's hand placed itself on your arm as you watched Kuroo get up to throw all of your stuff in a nearby trash can. His fingers started tracing soft circles as you heard him sigh. "I don't even know what to think right now," he said softly."I- I know," you responded shakily as you sat back up. "I just always wanted things to stay happy. When I was with you guys my worries would melt away and I just always thought it could be perfect."
Kuroo sat back down next to you as he returned. "I just wish you would have said that you didn't truly have it figured out.""I was convinced I could make it work, but no one wants to offer a transfer to someone that has already done one, especially so late," you shook your head as you looked down at your hands.
"If I had known earlier, I would have been at your apartment every single day," Bokuto said. "We would be spending every waking moment together."
"Yeah, we would have been flying over every single night," Kuroo confirmed, ruffling your hair.
"You guys have important games. Just because I'm here doesn't mean that you should change what I know means the most to you."
Kuroo was looking up into the sky while Bokuto was looking right at you. Their energy was getting more and more off from its usual as time went on and it was starting to eat at you. Bokuto spoke into the moment of silence. "I mean, I would lose some sleep for you. You're going to be so far away and right when we-"
Kuroo suddenly looked down towards Bokuto as he stopped talking in the middle of your sentence and your eyes widened as you looked between them. Did this have something to do with what Kuroo had mentioned they had to ask you?
"Before you guys say anything else," you stood up, taking the attention from the conversation they seemed to be having with just their eyes. You had no idea what they were about to say, but you had to get the last bit of your own truth off of your chest. "I need you both to know that I love you. Both of you. A lot."They were frozen. You had somehow managed to absolutely break them. It was as if you had literally put a pause on life for that second. Their agape expressions made you double back, "I'm sorry that sounds crazy. I've only known you guys for like a bit over a month. That's a lot to say, but I really wanted to-"
Kuroo grabbed you by your hands and roughly pulled you forward so your lips met his. As he kissed you in that moment, he reached his hands up to cup your face.
You melted for that moment of passion, melted into the act from one that you loved. He pulled away, his eyes softened as he looked you directly in the eye. "I love you," he whispered.
