The hollers you were met with as you entered the gym made you smile ear to ear. Due to your visit to Tokyo, it had been longer than usual since you had attended a practice. Without the party a few days ago, you probably would have been suffocated with the amount of extra energy that they had towards you.
Other than some mindless hugs and cheers, practice went mostly as normal, which you were grateful for.
After doing their drills, they started playing some three on three matches while you and Kiyoko did the scoreboard and managed the books. "You know," she said while she watched you mark down the last play's information, "I'm really going to miss having your help around."
You looked at her with a smile. "I'm glad my help was good to have around. I feel bad that I can't help you now that things are getting more intense game-wise."She shrugged. "It's alright. You've already done so much for us. Plus, I think I already have another possible manager lined up."
"Really?" you asked, excited for her.
"Yep!" she nodded. "She's a first year that doesn't know anything about volleyball, but she'll learn eventually."
You smiled at the thought that Kiyoko wouldn't be alone in wrangling all of these boys once you had to go, but part of you was sad that it wouldn't be you by her side for all of these important games. "You know, you should FaceTime me at every single game."
She laughed. "Wouldn't that be the middle of the night for you?"
"It'll be worth it," you said. "You know I'm going to be finding any way possible to watch all of the games that I can."
As the practice came to an end, you were dragged into so many hugs everywhere as they praised you for all of your help. The tears hit your eyes then, but this time you didn't stop them from falling.
"Is now crying time?" Asahi asked as he pulled you in. You nodded as you backed up, rubbing under your eyes to clear them.
"(y/n)! C'mere!" Daichi said as he extended an arm as the team started to huddle. You ran over with a smile, placing yourself directly between Suga and him as they put their arms above your shoulders.
They did their usual cheer and you joined them as you yelled "Fight!" with the rest of them. Right at the end, you heard a few of them yell "For (y/n)!"
"For (y/n)!" Suga said as he pushed you into the center of the circle. Arms buried you in the biggest group hug you had ever experienced as you laughed into the air.
"I love you guys!" you yelled as you tried to hug as many of them as you could. It was basically a sob fest at this point and you were the one throwing that party.
It was a hard goodbye, but it didn't feel entirely bad. It was more than that. You knew this wasn't the end of you seeing them, you were going to be back as soon as you could be, but it was the end of you filling in as their second manager. It was like the end of an era, really.
