A twenty hour plane ride. A long plane ride that only brought you further and further away from the place you really wanted to be.
You kept on trying to think of it like Bokuto and Kuroo did. They made it seem so easy and like it would be a little vacation, but you knew that it would be much harder than that. Still, as you gazed out the window at the clouds, you realized that you had enough memories from your two months to propel you for a long time.
The car ride to the airport was rough. It would have been way too early in the morning if any of you had actually gotten any sleep, but instead you were too busy spending every moment in their arms going through every emotion in the book.
Bokuto's eyes red with tears would probably be burned into your mind forever. He had kept on saying, "No, I'm not crying. I'm good," until the moment that you hugged him and he finally let every single bit of pent up sadness out of him.
If you had thought the floodgates were open the night after the party, then last night must have been releasing the entire ocean. It was okay, though, because by the time that you reached the airport, there were hardly any tears left to cry.
A large portion of your morning was spent telling Bokuto that he indeed could not fit into an empty suitcase to go with you, but he was so convinced that it was a smart plan that it almost convinced Kuroo that it was probable. "Even if you could," you had said. "You both know that you need to be there for your volleyball games. You need to keep that in mind."
They had mumbled in understanding. You knew that they loved you, but you also knew that nothing meant more to your athletes than their sport, which is as it should be. They were both extremely talented in it and you knew that Bokuto especially had a future in it. Who were you to be the girl that slowed down the fourth best ace in all of Japan?
To say that you held onto them until last possible second would almost be an understatement. You sat there in that hug until an announcement came on that said that it was the last call for you to board. Kuroo was the one that finally pushed you away and held Bokuto back long enough that you could make it onto the plane.
"I love you!" was the last thing you called out before the door was closed behind you. You didn't even have time to hear their response.
You would have to ask them what their responses actually were as soon as you got home and could access your phone again, but for now you had almost a full day of Airplane Mode ahead of you.
Tiredness was finally starting to take claim of you as you shifted around in your seat and changed the music that was playing in your headphones to something much softer. You looked down at the red hoodie on your body and the white one that sat in your lap.
As you were about to walk away to your gate and right before that final hug that nearly made you late, Bokuto had shoved your hoodie in your hands. It was one of the few moments that you had seen him unable to form words. He just stared at the ground as he held it out, you even saw a tear drip from his eyes down to the ground. "Are you sure?" you asked. "You won't be able to get this back for a bit. We won't see each other for a while."
