Chapter 3:

~ Y/N's P.O.V. ~

"... Am I the one who doesn't follow what the traffic lights are showing or is that you? Don't even try to mess with me, Sir."

I said as I handed him the ticket for overspeeding down the road. Well, he knew that he'll surely get caught once he does the thing that all traffic enforcers hate: Overspeeding. It's illegal and that's already basic knowledge yet this dumb ass doesn't even help himself in this situation.

"Hey, Y/N-"
"Yes, Mr. Moon?"
"Uh... I believe you're finally ready."

I turned around to face him out of curiosity. What am I even ready for?

"... What do you mean, Sir?"

I asked as he gave me a genuine smile, later handing me a badge surprisingly. I was speechless because I was literally under probation for three months yet... I finally got my badge back?! This is amazing! I couldn't believe that I can finally get out of this town full of dumb-ass drivers and actually participate in more stuff! I knew that I had to thank Mr. Moon for giving me a chance to prove myself once again.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much, Mr. Moon!"
"You are very welcome, Y/N... but that badge isn't all yet."
"... Sir?"

I was quite confused with what he suddenly told me because what in the world did he actually mean? I'm really not the type of woman to have such surprises from colleagues or managers. First of all, I'm a career-focused type of person who never really had a lot of friends. Second of all, I'm really not the type of person who socializes easily but I would if I really had to. And lastly, I'm definitely single and not really ready to mingle yet.

So I don't really experience several surprise parties and other things that are associated with excitement and shock but I do participate in some.

Plus, I don't really go to parties anymore because of this job I have.

"Oh? Don't you know? You're accepted."
"... Into where?"
"The station that you applied for? You said that it was your dream to work there, right?"

Mr. Moon asked me with a calm tone as usual but I was a bit clueless about it. I took a pause just so that I could figure out what Mr. Moon was telling me about. After a few seconds, my eyes widened at the thought of what he said. I got accepted?! Into the ENC Station?! The most highly-secured prison with the strongest airforce?!

Everything just felt like a dream that I couldn't believe.

"Sir?! Are you for real, Sir?!"
"Yes, Ms. L/N-"
"Oh my god! Thank you so much, Mr. Moon! I really appreciate every bit of your tolerance whenever I'm more like a prick than an officer- Anyways, thank you so much! I will repay you."

I said, hugging him as he loudly sighed before letting go.

"L/N, you know that I don't allow those acts-"
"But this is such a big thing for me, Sir! I really do feel like I owe you something."

I replied as he chuckled, shaking his head.

"You know... Just do your best and make every single one of us proud, okay? I mean, I'm already so proud of you but I know that you'll do great. Stay responsible and humble, okay?"
"Will do, Sir!"

I say as I later pin the badge on my chest, saluting him. Mr. Moon smiles in response, later giving me a pat on the back. After the long day, I finally make my way home with a smile on my face. I couldn't wait to tell my family about the best thing that happened to me earlier. I knocked on the front door of our house as I was greeted by my mother's smile.

"Oh, you came home early?-"
"I got accepted!"

I exclaim as I hug my mother, feeling extremely happy about the fact that I was accepted. My mother then told everyone to come down to the dining room and celebrate the good news with me. However, I knew that I had to move places and live inside an apartment that's near the station so that I didn't have to travel for two goddamn hours every morning. I knew that the place was quite far away from my area.
