note: i didn't know if i should leave bob in the story or matt, uhm yeah, mcr doesn't have very good luck when it comes to drummers. bob could just be in the story very briefly, let me know your thoughts.

The ride to the studio isn't long. I haven't been in awhile, so I'm really excited to see all our friends. It's somewhat cold but I'm used to this weather. Ray parks the car across the street from the studio. I step out of the car and grab my rain coat just in case. Shutting the dorr behind me, I quickly follow behind Ray. Although there are no cars on this road, I look both ways before crossing. I hold the door open for Ray, earning a grin from him.

Laughter and a cacophony of drums fills the room. We step inside and greet everyone. "Kaleb! Were you making Ray late again?" Gerard exclaims, his hands on his hips. I laughed and gave him a hug. "It's not my fault I wanted to dress cool!" I respond. Ray picks up his guitar and starts to tune it. "Are you going to practice keyboard today, K?" Mikey asks, after taking a sip from his water bottle. "Could I? (should iii, i'm sorry) I've been meaning to practice, I just haven't had time." I tell him, rocking back and forth on my feet. He gets up from his seat and shows me to the room where the keyboard is set up. "Thank you so much, Mikes." I say looking up at him. "Of course." He replies with a small smile. I let my fingers find their place on the piano, Mikey leaves the room and soon Frank comes to see what I'm doing.

"What song are you learning this week, Kaleb?" Frank asks, his hands in his pockets. "I did Happy Birthday, Mary Had a Little Lamb.." I trailed off. "Oh, right! I'm working on London Bridge this week." I tell Frank. He nods looking at the keyboard, handing me a pair of headphones to soften the musical sound they're going to produce. "Let me know when you learn it so we can do a duet." He jokes. We burst into laughter and he gives me a thumbs up before leaving the room.

I studied the notes yesterday, so it should be easier to play. I place the headphones on and find the keys. G, then A, G again. I play those notes a few more times, so that it stays fresh in my memory. Onto the next notes. F, and an E, second F. I held the note, trying to remember what came next. I put the first and second part together. F, E, F, I played G. That sounded about right. I continued the next line. This one seemed easier to play, I was still figuring out how to place my hands. D, then E. I accidentally played E twice, wincing at the mistake. D, E, and F, E ,F again. G again.

After about 20 minutes of playing the song from start to finish, I had it etched into my mind. It was actually quite easy to do. I liked it most when I got to the D, G, E, C part. I decided to remove the headphones and go back to where the practice is going on. I closed the door behind me and found a seat to watch from. I hoped to one day be as talented as them.

"He calls the mansion, not a house, but a tomb
He's always choking from the stench and the fume
The wedding party all collapsed in the room
So send my resignation to the bride and the groom"

I continued to watch them play and just imagined how fun it would be to perform in front of people. I would be too afraid to even move but the thought still fascinated me. They all put so much passion into their instruments, especially Frank who would usually end up rolling around on the floor. Ray's hair seemed to float when he played. Mikey wore his glasses at the very tip of his nose. He didn't play too crazily but I worried the glasses would fly off. Gerard's voice had so much power, it sounded like nothing I had ever heard before in the best way possible. Bob looked like he was having so much fun playing the drums, I remembered my mom telling me she wanted to learn too.

They finished playing the song and I got up from my seat clapping and praising them. Mikey took a bow, causing the rest of us to laugh. "You all sound incredible!" I exclaimed with a smile. "Thank you Kaleb!" Frank and Gerard said simultaneously. Mikey and I high-fived and I gave Ray a quick hug. "How's the piano playing goin'?" Frank asked, putting his guitar aside.

I shrugged. "I think it's alright, I'm not sure which song I'm gonna learn next." I reply. "You'll find one. If you don't, well, we'll help you find one." Ray says, messing up my hair. I smile at him and they continue practicing, I walk back to the seat I was at.
