''It's on me!" I instantly regret saying that, I probably couldn't afford two slices. I paid anyway with whatever I had left. Ray tried to convince me to have all of us chip in, but I assured him it was fine.  "Thank you Kaleb!" Frank exclaimed, his mouth full of food. Gerard shoved him and we broke into fits of laughter.

"What's the time?" I asked, as everyone quieted down. Mikey checked his watch. "It's 11:28." He replied, nodding his head. "Oh shit!" I exclaimed, quickly getting up from my seat. "What-what's wrong?" Gerard asked, his voice laced with concern. 

"He starts his new job today, and he doesn't wanna be late." Ray explained, helping me put on my rain coat. "What time do you start?" Frank asked, finishing his slice of pizza. "12 o'clock, I wanna get there at least a few minutes early though." I told him. 

"I'm gonna drive Kaleb home so he can change and then to work, do you guys want a ride?" Ray asked the guys. They all agreed and we got rid of our trash and ran to Ray's car. I sat in between Mikey and Gerard, and let Frank sit up front. "Frankie, should you really be sitting in the front?" Gerard joked. Mikey stifled a laugh and Ray started the car. Frank turned around to stick his tongue out at Gerard.

I quickly got out of the car, and unlocked the front door, running up the stairs to the room. I changed into my dark blue slacks and a light blue button up shirt. I fumbled with the tie, and scoffed when it wouldn't stay in place. I heard footsteps coming up, and turned to see Ray. I sighed with relief, and let him help me with my tie.

"You should've waited for me to park the car, K." Ray spoke, his hands on my shoulders. I bit my lip. "Sorry, I just really don't want to be late, I'll wait next time, I promise." I told him. He led me to the bathroom and helped me slick down my hair with gel. "You look very snazzy, Kaleb." Ray told me, closing the gel. I touched my hair and laughed. "I just need my cap and then we can go." I picked up my light blue cap and placed it upon my head. "Could I borrow this watch?" I asked Ray. "Yeah, of course. I don't know if it works but you can have it." He replied. We walked back down the stairs, ready to go. (i'm scared ' - ')

Frank, Mikey, and Gerard sat in the living room playing a board game. "Bye guys, I'll be back before you know it!" I exclaim, tipping my hat slightly. Mikey waved at us while Frank had all his attention on the game. "Bye K! Don't get fired again!" yelled Gerard. Ray laughed and locked the door behind him. 

I sat in the passenger seat, rubbing my eyes a bit. The car started up and we put on our seat belts. My job wasn't too far from mine and Ray's place but I kept looking at the time anxiously. "So, should I wait in the front when I come pick you up, or do you want me to wait across the street?" Ray asked, as we stopped at a red light. 

"No, no, it's okay. I can walk home, Ray. You're probably exhausted, you need to rest." I said, turning to look at him. "I don't want you to get hurt, or lost, or robbed. I can come and get you." He explained, continuing to drive. "Okay, fine. You can wait for me across the street from there." I agreed, fixing my cap again.

The car came to a stop, Ray got down from the car and opened my door for me. "You didn't have to do all that." I stated, laughing a little. "I did have to, you won't let me walk you in, this is the least I can do." Ray replied, closing the door. I looked down at the watch around my wrist. It reads 11:55. "I have to go now, I'll see you later, okay?" I whispered, hugging Ray tightly. He wrapped his arms around me and adjusted my cap so he could kiss my forehead.

"Bye Kaleb, I love you." Ray spoke, smiling at me as we let go of each other. "I love you too, bye-bye Ray." I replied, looking both ways before crossing the street. I quickly ran and used my key to get inside the restaurant.

yay! i don't know, i am really proud of how this is going so far, i'm not too good at fan fiction writing but i think this story is going well. i want to shout out  The_Balcony_Scene
