hey! so, i don't know how often i'll be able to update this. i really want to finish it and maybe start a new story thing. thanks for all the support on this story <3
Ray and I decide to walk to the studio instead of driving. It was raining so he held an umbrella over the two of us. "You really love that raincoat, don't you K?" Ray asked, as I clung onto him. "I know it's really worn out and old, but it just makes me feel happy." I replied, nodding against his shoulder. I couldn't even remember when I bought it. It was ripped at the end of the sleeves, reminding me of those gloves Frank wears. The zipper never fully went up and the pockets had holes in them. "Gerard had this one leather jacket he liked a lot. It was really nice too but over time it just deteriorated." Ray told me, leaning his head on mine. "I'll find you a cool raincoat just like this one, I bet you'll like it." He added, causing us to both smile.
We arrived at the studio safely, it was pretty cold inside. Gerard and Frank were talking, while Mikey was tuning his bass. Ray put the umbrella by the door and we walked over to the guys to join them. "We're in the middle of something!" Frank whisper-shouted, causing Mikey to giggle. Ray took a seat next to Gerard and Frank to see what they were doing.
"It just sounds messy, y'know?" Gerard explained. Frank showed the paper to Ray and he examined it. "It is a little rough." Frank stated, tilting his head. "It can be better than this, I know it." Gerard sighed with frustration. "You'll find the right words soon." I told him. Ray handed me the paper and I looked through it. "What exactly did you want to change?" Ray asked, putting a hand on Gerard's shoulder. I gave the paper to Frank. "These lyrics don't sound fitting to the story." Gerard explained, putting his face in his hands. The story part of the album was super important as it somewhat continued their previous album.
"I think it needs to be more personal to the Demolition Man. These lyrics here, they're sort of making it about the crimes. We need to really feel and understand how these crimes are going to benefit him. We should specify the opportunity." Mikey stated, writing down things in his notebook. Gerard's face lit up and he practically jumped out of his seat. "I have no idea what that means, but it seems to make sense to you guys." I remarked, earning a bit of laughter.
They began working together, trading ideas and concepts. I watched as they played around with the instrumentals and vocals of the song. After a few hours, the song was ready. They practiced and seemed much happier than when I first saw them. I smiled, not wanting to think about my shift later.
Ray was tired when we got home so I offered him to nap with me. We had went out for burgers and milkshakes. It wasn't too late but we were tired. We changed into more comfortable clothes and got under the covers. He held me close and played with my hair. I held my arms close to my chest and he reached out to hold my hand. "I love you, Ray." I mumbled sleepily. "I love you more, Kaleb." He replied softly. I shut my eyes and squeezed his hand.
I woke up a few hours later, Ray's arm was still draped around my waist. I looked at the alarm clock on the nightstand. It read 11:32. I told Ray I had to get going and he gave me one more hug. I went to the closet and changed into my uniform. The lines on my shoulder remained and I sighed. "Do we have any bandaids?" I asked him. Ray fixed the bed and checked under the bathroom sink. "Over here, there's only a few left. Are you okay?" He asked, placing the box of bandaids on the counter. "Just a paper cut." I lied, grabbing the remaining bandaids.
"I'm gonna walk to work today, okay? I'll be alright." I said to Ray, on our way downstairs. "Are you sure? I can drive you, K." He responded nervously. "I'll be back soon, I promise." I stated with a smile. I wrapped him in a hug and he kissed me gently. "Your hat! Did you want to take it with you?" He asks, grabbing my cap off the couch. "I'll take my beanie, but thank you. I'll see you soon." I walked out the door and was met with rain.
I made my way to the restaurant. It was raining harder and I had left my coat at home. I looked down at my watch and it read 11:55. I ran as much as I could and made it there in time. It was silent and empty. I quickly walked into the office and took a seat. I took a deep breath and the phone began ringing.
"Hello, hello? Hey! Hey, wow, day 4. I knew you could do it." The voice stated. They sounded nervous and I hoped everything was okay. "Uh, hey, listen, I may not be around to send you a message tomorrow. It's-It's been a bad night here for me. Um, I-I'm kinda glad that I recorded my messages for you, uh, when I did." I heard loud noises coming through the phone. It sounded close. "Uh, hey, do me a favor." The banging noises were getting louder and the voice seemed hesitant to keep talking. "Uh, I-I-I-I always wondered what was in all those empty heads back there. ." The voice trailed off. Did they know about what happened to the children? Was there more people before them? The musical chime played through the phone, but I thought nothing of it.
"You know...oh no-" The message cut off and my ears were filled with static and what sounded like screaming. I felt tears fall onto my uniform and bit my lip. They had to be okay, right? They made it out of there? I tried to think of something else and started checking the cameras. The main stage was deserted. Bonnie was in the dining room area. I couldn't see where Freddy was but I could hear Chica in the kitchen. I know it wasn't actually happening but I felt like the animatronics were mocking me.
The screens flickered every time I stayed on one for too long. I couldn't see Foxy yet, as he was still behind the curtain. It was one less thing to worry about. I felt horrible coming back here, knowing that I had helped an evil person. They had a right to mock me. I deserved to feel the same pain that those children felt. Bonnie moved to the backstage and Chica was near the restrooms. "I'm so sorry." I whispered, not expecting anyone to respond.
"You're gonna be." A voice behind me whispered.
I felt a hand go over my mouth and I tried screaming but it was useless. My eyes widened and I pointed at the screens seeing that Bonnie and Chica were right outside the office. Tears streamed down my face as my hands were tied behind my back. Duct tape replaced the hand on my mouth and I accepted my fate.
