The funny thing is
You only come to me when you need me
When you need someone to talk to
When nothing is going your way
When you need support
When the worlds turns on you
And you feel alone
You run back to the spot where I am
And hold my hand
Like you were never gone,
Like you never left me
Not exactly what I meant by "I'm always here if you need me"
But I guess that's what you understood
I wanted you to stay with me
But I guess you never could
Truth is, you will
Mistreat me,
Test my patience,
Abuse my trust,
Push me aside,
Never listen to me,
Take me for granted,
Leave me all alone
And you know that I will let you
Because you know I care about you
And you know that I'll want to stop caring
And I'll try to stop caring
But you also know that I'll just care even more because of those moments when you come back to me
