Fuckfuckfuck.

Louis knows he's gonna get suspended for beating up that idiot, Darren, on Saturday. Not that he regrets it... Honestly the school should be proud that he held back and didn't full-on annihilate the bloke.

Louis shuffles his feet as he makes his way to the headmistress's office. He had been in maths when a note came for him to report to her office at once. He didn't have to guess what it's about. Can they really suspend him for this though? It technically wasn't during school hours, just on the campus. It also wasn't like it was undeserved... How did they even figure it out? There wasn't anyone nearby besides Harry and Darren's friends and Louis doubts they would have tattled considering what Darren had said to provoke Louis.

Louis takes a deep breath outside of the closed door that leads to Headmistress Quill's office. She may not be physically that intimidating, what with her barely five foot stature and wobbly glasses, but she still manages to scare the shit out of Louis. Ever since his first day of secondary school and he's never really even spoken to her directly.

"Louis Tomlinson. Please, sit down." Headmistress Quill commands once Louis has found enough courage to actually go inside.

Louis stumbles into one of the two old, wooden chairs in front of her desk. The chairs, similar to every other piece of furniture in the room, are designed in a Victorian style and have probably been here since the school's foundation. Which, now that Louis thinks about it, probably was the Victorian era. He closely inspects everything in the office besides the Headmistress herself, Louis' never been very competent with confrontation.

"Do you know why I've called you in here?" Her voice doesn't sound all that angry, more inquisitive if Louis' being honest. Maybe she doesn't know everything about what happened on Saturday...?

"Ummm... maybe?"

Headmistress Quill sighs before continuing, "Some students saw you in an altercation with Mr. Wilmerton on Saturday morning. I have to say Louis I was a little disappointed when I found out. I wouldn't have expected this behavior from you, especially after having just been named team captain." Okay so she actually knows Louis a little better than he would have thought. "I would hate to have to take that title away from you. Truly."

Oh God. Louis feels like he's gonna burst into tears and vomit at the same time. He's worked so hard to become team captain. She can't just take it away before he's even gotten the chance to do anything!

"So what do you want me to do?" Louis musters, his voice wavering a bit.

"I want," Headmistress Quill gives Louis a look that maybe resembles something of understandment, "to hear your side of the story. I doubt you would start pounding someone unprovoked. Afterwards we'll discuss the consequences."

"Okay." Louis takes a shaky breath. He's pinching the skin in between his thumb and forefinger so hard that he's sure he must be drawing blood. It's the only thing preventing him from crying right now though. He really doesn't want to cry in front of the Headmistress; or anyone for that matter.

Louis manages to get through explaining what happened after tryouts on Saturday morning without him trembling too much. When he gets to the part where Darren started mumbling profanities towards Harry, he feels tears threaten to fall from his eyes. Not because of Headmistress Quill but because of the image of Harry's face after it had happened that's been burned into his memory. He'd just looked so shocked, so wounded.

"I see." Headmistress Quill replies once Louis finally finishes his story.

"I completely wasn't thinking when I punched him. Punched, singular by the way. I know that doesn't make it much better but once I had realised what I did, I didn't lay another hand on him. I just made sure that he heard what I had to say before he could leave."
