The next morning you wake bright and early by yet another knock at your door. A guard tells you that it's your first day of training and gives you directions to the training room. You were sleepy, but changed into some comfortable clothes, suitable for combat. From what you'd deducted, Thor would teach you how to fight and Loki would teach you magic.
You yawn as you enter the training room, the two brothers already there. "Good morning, Lady Y/N!" Thor's greeting was as enthusiastic as ever. You wave at Loki before taking a spot on the mat.
~
Training with Thor was brutal. He made you do push-ups until your arms stopped working and then throw punches left and right until you were finally too exhausted to even stand.Once you regain some energy, you stand up, ready for round two with Loki. He stands in front of you.
"I must say, Lady Y/N, I'm interested in that 'conjuring weapons' ability of yours."
You laugh. "Well, it's not very strong, and its hard for me to use my powers for a long-"
Your sentence was cut off by Loki quickly summoning a dagger and lunging towards you. Without thinking, you hold your arm out to protect yourself, clenching your eyes shut as you brace for the pain.
It never came, though. When you open your eyes you find a glowing white dagger blocking Loki's attack, formed completely from the light. His eyes widen with astonishment for a moment, before he steps back and lunges again.
He did this for a while, continuously striking while you blocked every attack. You felt yourself losing energy as you struggle to keep a hold of your weapon. Eventually it flickers out, and you duck quickly to avoid Loki's strike. He stops, reaching out to hold your elbow and steady you as you wobble on your feet. You smile. "That was definitely the longest I'd held it."
"You have good reflexes." He grins, and your cheeks heat a little.
"That was impressive fighting, Lady Y/N. You'll be ready in no time," Thor says, and you nod your thanks.
~
Later that night, you found yourself walking back to the gardens yet again. You sigh in relief when you saw Loki sitting there already. You had been hoping to run into him.
He looks up from the book he was reading. "Now it is I who suspects you are stalking me, Lady Y/N."
"I would never, Loki," you say dramatically, laughing. It was so easy to let your guard down around Loki.
"You are a very powerful warrior, Y/N. I almost had to actually try when I was sparring with you today."
"So everyone keeps saying." You sit down against the hedges as he puts his book away.
"Well, I look forward to seeing what else you can do."
~
Again, you spent a lot of time in the garden, talking to Loki. You again both steered clear of the sensitive subjects and enjoyed each other's sarcastic comments and funny stories.
It slowly became an almost daily occurrence. You'd somehow always end up in the gardens, and Loki would almost always be there. You'd thought he'd rather be doing more, well, princely stuff, but he'd always show up in the little alcove, or already be there huddled with a book.
Loki POV~
I was surprised almost every time I'd shown up to the alcove to find Y/N. But I was happy. She hadn't judged me, once, and I made sure to show up to the gardens earlier and earlier every day just to spend more time with her. Besides mother, I couldn't remember a single other person who understood me the way she did. I was still wary though, that she'd turn her back on me, become afraid of me and suddenly remember every terrible thing I've done. Just like every other person I had become close to.
She was so powerful, too. It amazed me how quickly she'd picked up the new skills we'd taught her over the various training sessions, and I wasn't kidding when I told her I actually had to try when sparring with her, a rare occurrence. Someone finally seemed to trust me for the first time in a long, long time.
Y/N POV~
Weeks passed as you continued your training sessions with Thor and Loki. You were spending more time with Loki, occasionally eating breakfast in the gardens before training. Thanks to his help, you could easily conjure weapons now, holding them for as long as you needed to without it draining as much energy. You hadn't practiced summoning the bursts of light, as it could easily hurt someone and you still hadn't reigned in enough control to use those powers anyways. Your evening conversations in the garden with Loki were the highlights of your day, a refreshing break from everyone being awkward around you and constantly mentioning your heritage. Loki had put an illusion over all the books on your bookshelf as a surprise, so you found yourself huddled up under a blanket in your spare time, immersed in the interesting stories and history of Asgard. You were also slowly becoming friends with Sif, both bonding over the fact you were the strongest warriors in Asgard and teasing Thor and The Warriors Three. You were happy and content, finally lie-free and were enjoying your time in the new world.
