Y/N POV~

You danced with Fandral for a while before dinner, desperate to do something else besides sitting by yourself and not talking to anyone. He was nice, and even taught you a few traditional Asgardian dances. You hadn't seen Loki since you first walked in.

Many compliments and questions came your way as the food arrived, everyone eating and talking. There was still no sign of Loki.

After dinner, when everyone moved to the open space on the floor, you did see Odin, however, talking with Frigga and Thor as an idea came to mind. It was bold, and had the potential to get you kicked out of Asgard, but the positives outweighed the risks.

You approach Odin, clearing your throat to get his attention. "Excuse me Odin, uh, your majesty, Allfather, sir." He tilts his head slightly, his face blank. Shit. You were already messing this up. "Um, it has come to my attention you asked Loki to step down from training me? I just wanted to say he was a really, really good teacher. I have been able to control and use my powers a lot better than ever since his guidance, and I was wondering if you'd maybe consider, uh, letting him train me again?"

You notice Thor grin and Frigga give a small smile out of the corner of your eye as you nervously await Odin's response. He looked surprised. "My son is a frost giant, a manipulator. He does not have nearly enough responsibility to train one of Asgard's most powerful warriors."

"I understand that, I really do, but uh-" you swallow, trying to sound as polite as possible as he shut down your idea. "I've gotten to know Loki, and I believe that if I was truly being manipulated, I wouldn't be begging for you to let him train me again."

His face goes blank again as he stays silent. "I don't know if that's a good idea-"

He gets cut off as Frigga places a hand on his shoulder. "He's our son, Odin. And I think we should approve of Y/N's request, as she's the one being trained."

He sighs, before nodding. It took everything in you to not jump with excitement. "Very well, if we wishes to, he may train you again."

You thank him quickly and run back off into the party.

Loki POV~

I stood on the balcony, trying to clear my head and prevent myself from stabbing Fandral. I unconsciously summon illusions of golden roses as I try to forget about Y/N.

"What are you doing out here, son?" I turn to find mother standing at the entrance of the balcony.

"I needed a break from the noise," I say as I turn back around, resting my elbows against the ledge.

"Have you talked to her?"

I sigh, raking a hand through my hair. "Why does everyone keep asking me that?"

"So you haven't heard."

"Heard what?"

"Y/N did something very bold. Almost careless, but bold nonetheless."

I turn to her again, confused. "What are you talking about?"

She smiles. "She decided to confront your father. She told him how great of a teacher you were, and how she disagreed with his idea that you were a bad influence. She got him to agree with you being able to teach her again."

"Why would she want me to train her again?" There was no way she would've done that for me.

"Like I said, Loki, she cares. And you wouldn't be out here beating yourself up over everything that's happened if you didn't care either."

Mother was right. I couldn't hide from her any longer. It would just tear both of us apart in the long run. I needed to confess everything to her.

"I- I have to go find her."
