Daughter of Hephaestus. This may be long.

I quietly walked into an apartment, familiar with the surroundings...and where the key was hidden...I made my way into the kitchen, finding Sally silently stirring something in a pot. At the sound of my shoes scuffing against the vinyl, she looked up, sending me the sweetest smile. Her smile slowly fell when she realised I was wearing one of Percy's zip-up hoodies.

"He's not here, lovely." She looked back to the food on the stove, slowly turning the wooden spoon in the pot. "He's gone somewhere for the summer." She had sensed my oncoming question. "I'm not really sure when he'll be back..." I pursed my lips and nodded with a sigh.

"So...he's at camp?" I asked, Sally nodded, immediately stopping and turning her head to look at me.

"How'd you know that?" I shrugged. Over the years I'd known and been with Percy, I'd recognised things about him that I had too, and that his best friend, the one with the crutched, Grover, had a little something called goat legs, so...

"He never sits still, ADHD, and he's dyslexic aside from Ancient Greek-"

"We have to take you there." I stared at her as she turned the stove off in a hurry, placing a lid over the food and grabbing her keys.

"W-what? Why?"

"(Y/n), I've seen you playing with fire, and now you know about the camp, and demi-gods-"

"Well, I know, yeah, but why do I have to go?" She quickly took my hand and led me down a corridor to Percy's room.

"Because-" She grabbed another hoodie and handed it to me. "You're a demi-god, you know this, which puts you in danger." I stared at the older woman as she gently, but quickly, tugged me out of the house. "And we need to go, before Gabe gets home." I slowly nodded as we hurried down the steps to her car. As we climbed in and she pulled away from the curb, she spoke once more. "I'll take you home, pack a quick bag, and I'll explain to your mom what's going on, okay?" I slowly nodded as we turned the next corner, growing closer to my home.

Sally pulled up to my house and followed me up the steps onto the veranda, joining me as I entered the house. She headed into the room my mother's voice came from when I had called for her, while I went upstairs to my room. I smiled as my younger brother, who loved watching me mess with the flames, bounded down the corridor and into my room.

"Hey, Tan, I'm going to be gone for a bit, okay?" He nodded, throwing himself onto my bed.

"Is it because of the demi-god thing?" I nodded. He'd been told about it so he wouldn't be too ruined if I were to die young, or happen to leave for long periods of time. I grabbed a bag from my closet and started rolling clothes up and slipping them in with a few other necessities.

"(Y/n)!" I heard my mother's voice call out from the bottom of the stairs. My 11 year old brother was the first to leave my room, with me following after him. We reached the bottom of the stairs and my mom offered me a smile, pulling me into a tight hug. "Come by when you can." I nodded with a smile, soon staring down at Tanner.

"You're still not allowed in my room when I'm gone." I stated plainly. Tanner laughed and shook his head, hugging my waist as I sat a hand on his shoulder, lightly rubbing as I stroked his hair down.

"We should get going." I nodded and waved to my family.

Sally pulled up to the side of a country road. I looked to my right, to look at her. She offered me a weak smile.

"Let Percy know I miss him." I nodded, leaning across the car and hugging the woman. "You run, okay? As fast as you can, through that forest." I slowly nodded, not really understanding why I had to. To be honest, I probably wouldn't run. I climbed out of the car with my bag. "Good luck." I smiled and nodded, stepping away from the car as Sally pulled away and began driving off down the road in the dark. I stared at the dark woodland before stepping over the fence and making my way slowly through the woodland.
