POV: narrator

Narrator: Jaden woke up with one singular thought. Fuck everything. He carries around a very tired expression. Aeson and him didn't realize they had spent so many days sleeping together, so yesterday at night they decided it was time to sleep in different rooms again. Easy to say that wasn't very pleasant for Jaden.
He found himself in the pettiest of moods, and it got even worse when a certain boy appeared, greeting him in a tone he finds irritating. The boy is Albert.-

Albert: hey. -he said, purposefully grabbing Jaden's shoulder. Oh, he must be testing Jaden. Because it's irrational. It's gotten to the point where Jaden doesn't know if this boy was ever taught manners at home, or if he has an issue he should've been warned of prior. Before, Jaden barely ever doubted if he could actually call himself a good person. But he must be. If he wasn't, he would've already tried to chop this guy's fingers off.- how are you?

Jaden: hi. -one word with two letters were enough for him to show entirely the frustration he feels towards this boy.- I'm fine and you? -he asked, tone as flat as a table. He also stopped walking, since he was on his way to Aeson's room, and he really didn't want the conversation to go long and then he'd be standing in front of Aeson's door talking to this guy.-

Albert: I'm fine too. I heard there is a dance here, for winter. -Jaden squinted up at Albert. He heard from who? It's true, yea, there is a dance, but so what?- Who are you going with to the dance? Did you ask someone? - Jaden in fact feels tested by this interaction. Because he doesn't understand why does Albert care even in the littlest bit. He speaks in the most uninterested, robotic, borderline uncanny tone ever. But his questions are exact and sound interested, it puzzles Jaden's brain up. Jaden has only ever asked himself if he's a bad person in numbered situations, after specific events. But Albert just gets him to wonder so much if he actually is. He feels bad for not tolerating Albert but then he also asks himself if there are any reasons why he should. Albert seems to put effort in bothering Jaden, touching him every time they interact. But then, Jaden doesn't know him. What if he doesn't understand, or if he's different? Jaden is so confused by the existence of this guy.-

Jaden: no, and I'm not going to. -he answered easily, glancing at Albert. He doesn't bother taking Albert's hand off his shoulder. He knows it's futile. Jaden squints up at Albert, asking with his expression what else it is that he wants.-

Albert: oh, sorry. -he said, same flat tone but now taking his hand off Jaden's shoulders. Now. Here's when Jaden feels guilty about thinking bad of Albert.- I forgot about your... discomfort. -he remarked then, excusing himself. Jaden nods, still squinting up at Albert almost with a grimace on his face.-

Jaden: thank you for taking your hand off on your own. -he softened his tone just a small bit.- how do you know which's my room?

Albert: right. I was just passing by, then I saw you. Uh, see you. -he said last, turning back on his feet and going right back to where he came from, leaving Jaden standing and confused. He scoffed and kept walking to Aeson's room, thinking inevitably on the weird ways Albert works. He somehow managed to pass through the thick layers of disinterest on Jaden's brain. It's inevitable, now Jaden pays attention to him.
Jaden got to Aeson's room, knocking on the door.-

Aeson: hey, good morning. -opened, then smiling at Jaden. Jaden smiled too.-

Jaden: hey. -he hugged Aeson, burying himself in Aeson's chest and breathing deeply, feeling something...- how are you? How was your night? -Jaden realized then that there's a feeling in his chest that isn't very pleasant. He feels relief, only from hugging Aeson. He missed him even though they only spent one night separated.-
