5 - Threats and Promises

Ashton was right when he told Calum that Michael would officially stop in soon, since the leader finally entered the room a day later to meet the demon for himself.

Michael tried to keep in his evil smirk and Calum tried to keep in his intrigued grin. In the end, both were unsuccessful.

"A demon caught and in the mercy of the hands of a vampire..." Michael hummed darkly when he stopped in front of the demon, "That's not something you hear everyday."

"That's because this will result in you dying in the most brutal of ways." Calum growled out in a warning, expecting Michael to cower back in fear like all his other opponents. But the vampire only smirked more in reaction.

"Or maybe because you've finally faced your match? I was powerful enough to take you for my own."

"It wasn't because of power. It was because pure luck was on your side."

"Luck isn't real."

"It has to be, since I'm trapped here with you."

Michael scowled in anger, "Demons are always so stuck up, believing that they're as powerful as creatures come. Never can you admit that there are others more powerful than you."

"When you find out exactly who I am, I am going to be ecstatic for your reaction."

"Who are you? Another prude demon?"

"Say that to me without these chains attached to my arms." Calum ordered darkly, "Then we'll see how much of a prude I am."

Out of all things the demon has said, this is what caused the vampire to halter slightly due to the words Calum had said. The demon noticed, of course.

He smirked darkly as the vampire tried to cover up his few seconds of hesitation. But the waver of his own dark grin and his stop to the argument made it all too obvious.

"The attraction to a demon and their words is completely normal. No reason to be so shocked by it."

"So bloody cocky and arrogant." Michael growled out, stepping forwards to harshly grip onto Calum's hair while he glared in the other's face, "You won't be once you're begging for me to kill you and let you escape from the pain of my torture."

"I've lived long enough both as a mortal and as an immortal to understand the key differences between men who claim to be powerful and men who are powerful." The demon said calmly, even though the vampire was obviously on the brink of breaking.

"Powerful men don't use words to make others fear them. They use their actions. Threats and promises of violence are never in a confident and powerful man's agenda."

"You don't know anything about me or my power."

"I know enough about fake men and disturbed vampires to understand the basics of you, Michael."

"Who told you my name?" He growled out annoyed, letting go of Calum's hair and pushing himself away from the chained up demon.

"I know a lot of things." Was Calum's brief response. He wasn't going to put out Ashton's name for Michael's blame; Ashton was the only friend he had in here, if Calum could even call him that.

"Too bad that smart of a man is destined for death."

"Are you calling me smart, Michael?"

Michael scowled from the cocky question, making him walk to the other dark side of the room, quickly picking up the first knife in his site.

Michael expected to see something, anything from the demon with the threat of a knife. But he only got a dark stare basically daring Michael to use it. The vampire had to use everything in him to ignore this type of stare.

"As soon as you place that knife against me..." Calum started to warn when Michael stepped closer to the demon with the weapon in hand, "You'll be good as dead."

"I'm already dead." Michael grinned chaotically, ignoring the threat because in his mind he was the most powerful one.

Slowly placing the blade against Calum's neck, Michael hummed in pleasure when he saw the dark red substance slowly ooze out from the small cut he delivered on the demon's skin.

Like always by this point, Michael had expected screams of pain and desperation. As soon as the pain started, Michael's victims instantly started begging for him to stop and for him to let them go.

But all he got was a large glare from the demon who was obviously not happy.

"You think that a pathetic knife if going to make me break? If this is your plan then there's no reason why I should worry."

Michael pushed himself angrily away from the demon again, watching as the other chuckled from the childish action.

"I'll break you. Like I always do to the others."

"Sounds like you have to tell yourself that, which isn't very confident or powerful of you, Michael."

"Don't patronize me, demon."

"Or what, vampire?" Calum smirked when he saw pure anger overcome Michael face once again, "You're gonna slice me up like I'm some lousy human?"

Michael went silent from this, making the demon scan over the vampire. Calum grinned knowingly because that's exactly what Michael's plan consisted of.

Michael didn't realize yet that this was a completely different situation than normal because Calum was a demon and he was a well respected and strong one as well.

The vampire ahead of him with a bloody knife had no idea what he just started and what world he placed himself into.

Calum couldn't help but to feel excited to see how far Michael was willing to push himself and Calum just to prove that he had power too.

"I'm leaving." Michael said briefly, throwing the knife down to the ground before turning around and heading towards the exit.

"I can see that." The demon hummed mischievously, watching how the vampire haltered from the tone for a second before scoffing and taking his official leave.

The demon let his eyes stay onto the black, wooden door, wondering when the vampire was going to come back next.
