A half hour passes. Then an hour. Then an hour and a half. Steve has been in there for what feels like forever. I'm still sitting in the kitchen in silence. Wanda is to my right, still reading her book. She looks up on the occasion, looking around at all the fruit. She acts like she's going to go over there and pick up one, but she never does.

I keep looking down at my thumbs, then to the room where Bucky and Steve are, then back down to my thumbs.

"Violet?" I recognize that voice. It brings a smile to my face.

"Hi, Sam." I say, grinning from ear to ear. Sam is one of Steve's friends and for the past few months, he's been one of mine. I don't know exactly how they met, considering Steve is over 100 and Sam is about 70 years younger than him. All I know is that it had something to do with Washington D.C.

Sam's voice is comforting and nice to hear. He brings a little bit of normalcy to what's been going on for the past week, but I mean hey, when is anything ever normal around here. My best friend is a god for goodness sake.

"So how have you been?" he asks me, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge.

"Are you seriously asking me that question right now?" I look him dead in the eye. He looks up towards me.

"Why wouldn't i ask you that question....WHAT DID STEVE DO-"

"No No!!! Steve did nothing!" I shout towards him. "Other than be an idiot."

"Good, but if Steve ever does something, let me know and i'll kill him."

I smile. "Thank you Sam, but i can handle myself."

He chuckles. "Now tell me what's up."

"Steve's best friend is back in town."

"Bucky?" he looks shocked, almost scared. "Didn't he die?"

"That's what we thought, but apparently he's still here. We found him while recovering stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. files."

"That is insane. Isn't this dude like 100 years old now?"

"104."

"Yeah ok, 104." he laughs, taking a sip of his water.

Suddenly the door opens and out walks Steve.

"Hey." i say "how was it?"

He pauses.

"He wants to talk to you."
