11:34

I'm in my room, trying to fall asleep, when I suddenly hear the burst of someone through a door.

Is it that bratty teen again? What was his name, Peter?

"Hey! How was the date?" She asks him.

I quietly step out of my room, trying to make sure she doesn't notice me.

Good, I think I'm in the clear.

I stand and listen to their conversation for a while. Stalker much? Maybe, but i can't help it. I'm lost in my own thoughts, just thinking and trying to remember more things.

Is it weird I feel like I've known Violet before? She looks so familiar, but i can't quite place it. Maybe it will come back to me later, when I have a tighter grip on reality.

."I've never been in love."

What? I zone out for 2 seconds and something like this happens?

She gives a small smile and walks to the kitchen.

"Do you want a drink? Wait, no your 15, you can't have any." she says as she pours herself something in a glass.

Peter mumbles something and he walks out the door, her eyes following him the whole way out, making sure he doesn't trip or something.

She gets up and walks up the stairs, completely ignoring me as I try and reach out and grab her arm. I miss, obviously.

"Never been in love?" I ask. I must have startled her, she instantly drops the glass she was holding and it shatters all over the floor

"BUCKY! You can't do that!" her enraged yell echos through the hall. Strangely, it brings me comfort.

"I'm so sorry." I say as I scramble to pick up the glass shards.

"It's fine, just don't do it again!" She exclaims, putting her finger in my face. I take a step back from her.

"What, scare you? Or ask if you've never been in love?" I ask.

"Ask if i've ever been in love, i don't get scared, i'm an avenger." she tries to distract herself from the situation.

That's a lie, she was scared when she saw me for the first time. She was scared when I asked her out to lunch. She was scared when we met in the kitchen that one night. I know she's still a little scared of me, but she tries to hide it.

"Really? Because that was not what I saw at the restaurant today." of course i'm talking about when the woman asked us if we were together.

"What do you mean?" she asks, standing up.

I smile a little just thinking about it, part of me wishing something would happen between us.

"Nevermind."

I take the broken glass out of her hands and exit over to my room

She follows me.

No, don't think about that.

"James, what do you mean?" she wants to know. I hate it when she calls me James. I hate it when anyone calls me james. It sounds so proper and elegant, and I'm the furthest thing from that.

"Violet, go to bed, it's late." I say.

Do it. Do it.

I take my hand and put it gently on her left shoulder. I thought about putting the Metal one on her other shoulder, but I don't want to hurt her. I hide it behind my back, praying she doesn't notice, but of course she does.

"Fine, just because it's late and I don't want to wake up Thor." She scoffs, Changing the resting position of my arm so it's off her shoulder and closer to her waist. Not on her waist, just closer.

"Why would we wake up Thor? I wonder out loud.

"Because i'm going to be screaming at you."

What.

"Why would you be screaming at me?" I ask, attempting to put my arm on her shoulder again, but she pushes it off again.

"You won't tell me what you mean by 'that's not what i saw at the restaurant." She remarks, making small air quotes with her hands.

I move back from the doorway into the room. It's small, but cozy. There's a bed that I don't use. It feels like a marshmallow, spending so much time during the war and not having a bed, sleeping on the floor feels like the only option. I wouldn't be able to sleep there if i tried. And the last thing, a small painting, done by Steve.

He's a really good artist, I remember him drawing things for me all the time in the 30's.

I remember.

Progress.

"Just..go to bed." I beg like a dog wanting food.

I want her to stay with me, but I know she'll say no.

"Fine, I'll see you tomorrow." she says, walking out of the room.

I quickly turn and grab her waist, forcing her to face me.

"Goodnight, Violet." I say softly.

"Goodnight, Bucky." she says slowly leaving my grip and sails towards her room.

Follow her you idiot.

I hesitate, but as soon as the door shuts, I make a break for the room.

I stand outside for a second, wondering what to say to her.

"Never-mind, this is Stupid." I say, moving back towards my room and shutting the door.

I lay on the floor, trying to fall asleep, but she's the only thing that's on my mind.
