When May 16th came, there seemed to be a slight buzz in the air.

Maybe it was because at the Gryffindor table that morning sat two very happy people, proudly holding hands. The blonde leaning into her partner slightly as she ate a strawberry.

That couple had been on the cusp of being in a relationship for months now.

And that couple was none other than:

Marlene McKinnon and Lily Evans.

They had become official the night before.

"James you owe me ten galleons." Elladora said as she sat down, seeing the couple.

James grumbled and reached into the pocket of his trousers to hand her the desired amount of galleons.

"You bet on us?" Lily asked in amusement.

"Sure did, Lils, and you just earned me ten galleons - so, much love." Elladora said with a smirk.

Lily rolled her eyes, "I'm not even surprised anymore."

Elladora tipped her glass to Lily and winked.

Marlene bit into another strawberry.

"Marls, you're coming for my strawberry brand." Elladora said as she eyed the strawberry.

Marlene snorted, "I wouldn't be surprised if whoever was in love with you could smell strawberries in amortentia because you love them so much - and smell like them?"

Elladora laughed and nodded, "It's all the shampoo." She ran her nails through her hair. "Thought my main scent would be cinnamon because of my spray." Elladora shrugged.

James had become lost in his thoughts.

Of course, he hadn't really put much thought into what he had smelled in the amortentia. But now, he was.

He thought back to the lesson and the scents that he had written down.

• Cinnamon
• Strawberries
• Wet grass
• Butterbeer

James shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts and focussed back on the conversation.

"Prongs, you alright?" Peter whispered to him.

James smiled and nodded.

"Wanna talk about it?" Peter said softly.

James thought for a moment before nodding.

"Wormy and I will be back in a bit, we're just going to go back to the dorms for a bit - I forgot my wand." James said as he tucked his wand up his jacket sleeve so that no one could see it.

The others nodded and went back to their conversations as the two boys stood from the table and walked from the Great Hall.
