It had been a week since James had started their break.

It had been a week since Elladora had let anyone into the apartment.

It had been a week since anyone had seen Elladora unless it was at meetings or work, and even then she would just ignore everyone.

Lily and Marlene were due to come back from their honeymoon later that day, and neither of them had been informed of the current situation.

So, while Elladora finished yet another bottle of fire whiskey before opening a new one. The record player was blaring 'The Beatles' and she danced around drunk in one of James's hoodies. She had put a silencing charm on her house so her neighbours wouldn't kick up.

"Where's Ellie?" Lily asked with a frown as they sat in their living room.

"At home?" Mary guessed.

"She doesn't leave the place, so I would assume so." Remus retorted.

"Why? What happened?" Marlene asked with furrowed brows.

"We're on a break." James said quietly, as if bracing himself for impact.

"What? Why?" Lily asked as she sipped on her drink.

James told Lily exactly what had happened.

"And you left her? For a week?" Lily asked aghast.

James nodded slightly in shame.

"Have any of you seen her other than for meetings or work?" Marlene asked as she stood up from the sofa, preparing to go to Elladora's.

When they all shook their heads, Marlene huffed.

"You guys are honestly the dumbest people I have ever met." Marlene hissed.

"Where are you going?" Alice asked as Marlene gripped her wand.

"Ellie's."

The rest seemed to pick up their wands and they too apparated outside of Elladora's apartment.

The silence outside was deafening.

Marlene knocked on the door.

They all waited for a minute, continuously knocking before James butted in.

He grabbed his key and unlocked the door.

Elladora had drunk an entire bottle of firewhiskey that evening already when she opened the new one.

'Help!' by The Beatles was blaring through the record player.

she drank another swig of the burning liquid.

As she span around she saw the crowd of people stood in front of a now closed door and she smiled.
