Mid-June. Day before the last day of school.
3 days as everything changed.

"It is with my great honor to say...class of (place year here), you have graduated!" Principal fuckface said. The seniors threw their caps up in the air, jumped around, danced, cheered and got all sappy. I will say, I'm really proud of Gene. He really survived this hell hole and was able to pass with decent grades. Sasha, Zenix, Odyssey, Amelia and I run over to Gene. His family is giving him hugs, Dante flashing me a smile. I've decided to drop the nicknames with people. Certain people.

Gene's mom takes a bunch of photos of everyone and then tells Gene to take his time. Dante and his family leave and what's left? The Shadow Knights. The hottest people around, of course.

"Gene's oooooold now!" Sasha laughs, poking Gene in the chest. He rolls his eyes, picking up Sasha and putting her over his shoulder. "Park time?" He says casually. I let out a snicker as Sasha protests and demands to be placed down. Odyssey and Zenix support the idea she stays up there. I looked at Amelia, who was happily texting someone on their phone. Amelia and I have gotten closer as the school year has gone on. I learned their mother was a terrible person and they have to take care of her all the time. I trusted them enough to tell them about my father. They also came out as non-binary a few months ago and we all have been supporting them.

"Park time!" They cheer and grab my arm. I smile softly. Amelia was someone who I really counted on ..they were just ..perfect?

I mean, everyone agreed with me. There was no doubt they were the most attractive, kindest and one of the most sarcastic people in school. Everyone wanted them. As we all walked, talked and laughed, I saw Travis, Aphmau and Zane waking and doing the same. "Oi! Earth to Y/N!" I hear Sasha yell and I shoot my head to her.
"What could you possibly want from me from all the way up there?" I smirk, joining in on teasing her. She huffs, flipping me off.

"We're passing your house soon, you might want to duck down or somethin."

Everyone slowly goes kinda silent. Terry was refusing to leave for weeks now. I've crashed at Odyssey's places a lot, or I've been at Gene's. Travis has no choice but to be home. He's been mad at me and barely talks to me, even if I am still taking all of Terry's shit. He's seen me on the street and pulled me to somewhere he can hurt me or yell. Calls and texts with threats, drunken calls, stuff like that. He even went as far as to "pick me up" from school early one day and bring me home to make me clean the house. I love my little brother, but stepping foot into that house again willingly is out of the question.

We finally reached the park and went near the lake. I laid on the grass with Amelia while Gene, Zenix and Sasha went to get snacks like normal. Staring at the clouds, I let out a sigh. Everything felt so weird, so fake. Like life was all so fake. I felt someone touch my arm and looked over to see Amelia. They smiled softly and tilted their head at me.
"What's on your mind?" Their voice was soft. I debated saying something snarky like "my brain" or "oh just my frontal lobe". I didn't.

"Travis." That's it. That's my answer. Amelia nods and takes something out of their bag. Their phone. I shake my head. "Not doing it." I say. For a while, Amelia has offered to call the cops on Terry. I still won't let them. Gene and Odyssey come back before Sasha and Zenix with snacks.
"They went to go make out or some dirty shit, who knows. Anyways! Snacks on me!" He dumps chips, drinks, and candy out of the deli bag and I hit his arm. Odyssey sits next to him.
"Hey! That's not right, you're the graduate! You should have let one of us pa-" Before I'm done talking, he shoves a chip in my mouth. I glare at him and smile, trying not to laugh.
