"Fine!" I roll my eyes. "Listen, Zane, Terry is home so you have 5 minutes to talk!"

The door opens.
Terry.

"Times up. Get inside Y/N. Now."

My eyes widen. My whole body freezes. No. Not now. He wouldn't have the balls to hurt me in front of someone, let alone a Ro'Meave. I nod.
"I'll see you later then." I walk towards the door, but Zane yanks my arm. I mean...Emo Dork. My body feels like it just lit itself on fire. I start looking back and forth from Terry to Za- ...Emo Dork.

My body doesn't know what temperature to feel.
Cold. Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. Freezing. Frost bite.

I yank my arm out of his grip.
"I said I have to go!" My tone is stern. I can feel Terry's smirk. Emo Dork looks me dead in the eye, I can see the helplessness in them. He wants to help, like he would even be able to. I walk to Terry as he smirks lightly. I want to wipe that smirk right off his ugly ass face.

I walk past him as he sneers at Emo Dork. I peer my head to see him, his face full of fear as the door slams.

"Where's Travis?" His voice is stern. I glare.
"He's off being a teenager. After school tutoring." My voice, unlike his, is calm. He squeezes my throat, his breath the smell of bourbon. His grip tightens as he holds a piece of my hair. He runs his hand across my cheek, inhaling to smell me. He's like a bull.
"Why did you leave my, my Lilly...?"
I gulp. My mind races to all the scenarios that are about to happen. I soften my voice to sound like mom.
"I'm sorry I left, I didn't want to. I wish I never did-"

I'm across the room. It all happened so fast. I'm on the floor. It's cold. It's cold. It hurts. It hurts.

what did I just say? What just came out of my mouth? What-

"What did you say? You pathetic bit-" I cut the monster off.
"...help me...!!! Someone help me!! Please!!" I scream. I scream and I scream and I scream. My head feels like it's jelly, my eyes feeling like lava. I scream louder. And louder. And louder. Why cant anyone hear me?

A large, much needed, time skip because I have left you lovelies on cliff hangers for too long...

Spring. Spring is such a happy time of year. Flowers blooming, trees budding, birds chirping, couples taking over the town and park. A perfect time to skip school, such as right now.

I hate spring.

"Yo! Think fast!" Sasha throws a Twinkie at me. I stare at her and smirk. She chuckles and sits down by me.
"My arm is broken, Sash. How the fuck did you think I was gonna catch that?" I rip open the Twinkie packaging with my teeth. My arm has been broken since February when The Monster threw me again.

It's late April. The cast can come off in a week.

"You're Y/N, you can do anything." She slurps down her 7/11 slushie.
"Where did the others go?" I lay down in the grass. First day of spring break. First day of 2 whole weeks full of The Monster and pretending to do my homework for the break. As if I summoned them, Odyssey and Gene come running over with more snacks. Zenix strolls over, kissing Sasha on the cheek as he sits next to her. Everyone I know is dating someone. Even Travis has a potential girlfriend.
